Microsoft pushes Win8.1/WP8.1 universal application graphics acceleration Win2D API

Computer store news: Microsoft today revealed more information about Win2D API, bringing Direct2D graphics hardware acceleration capability to Windows developers, suitable for Windows 8.1 And Windows Universal App for Windows Phone 8.1.

Now, developers want to create Windows Store apps using DirectX. They need native C++ and DirectX APIs. These applications are currently only suitable for Windows Runtime and are more complicated.

So, developers have been looking to access DirectX using the C# language, and their hardware graphics acceleration is similar to system.drawing, XNA, and sharpdx. Win2D is the current solution. Win2D leverages the power of Direct2D and seamlessly integrates XAML and ICoreWindow.

The Win2D design makes it possible for C#/C++ developers to use the full functionality of the Direct2D API. These APIs, combined with the XAML language, bring a rich and rich interface to the application. The API is currently in the early stages of development and has been part of the 2D drawing capabilities. But it is by no means the full functionality of Direct2D in the current Windows Runtime environment, so the early launch of the API is useful even without all the Direct2D APIs. Early API developers and users can give feedback and ultimately help create the best C#/C++ Windows Runtime 2D instant mode API. ”
