Win8 does not force the failure to complete the PC sales target

Computer Store News:

This year, Fujitsu may not be able to complete its annual PC sales target because of the European crisis leading to a decline in demand and the impact of Japanese products in China.
Fujitsu President Masami Yamamoto told the media that by the end of March, the company’s PC sales target was 7 million units, but the target may not be achieved, with sales of only 6-7 million units.

Masami Yamamoto also said that the Windows 8 listing failed to revitalize PC sales and it did not achieve the desired results. Fujitsu is a Japanese IT service provider that produces microprocessors, smartphones and computers. In October, Fujitsu cut its full-year operating profit forecast by 5% to 100 billion yen ($1.2 billion), mainly due to the decline in electronics and chip sales in Europe. Last year, mobile phone and PC business accounted for 24.3% of Fujitsu's total sales. Masami Yamamoto also said that in March, Fujitsu will announce a semiconductor business restructuring plan. According to previous sources, Fujitsu is already negotiating to sell the major semiconductor factories in western Japan to TSMC. Due to the high cost pressures of infrastructure upgrades and the price competition of companies such as Samsung, Japanese chip makers are working hard to outsource production and restructure their losses. Renesas Electronics is the largest manufacturer of automotive microprocessors. The Japanese media reported at the beginning of the year that Fujitsu, Panasonic and Renesas are trying to form an alliance with the troubled LSI chip division.
