Optimize and maintain Vista system in Windows XP

Computer store news: We already know that the default installation of Vista capacity requires 7GB~8GB space. For users with tight disk space, we can manually delete Vista in Windows XP. s component. Since the components to be removed in Windows XP are not in use, we can easily delete them.

It is recommended to back up the system before deleting the file. After the Vista operation is normal, delete the backup completely. For example, you can delete d:WindowsWebWallpaper (with wallpaper, you can delete it, take up 45.5MB), d:WindowsSystem32DriverStoreFileRepository (Windows owns driver backup takes up 1.03GB), d:WindowswinsxsBackup (backup file, 354MB), d: UsersPublic (all user public folders occupy 217MB), d: WindowsSystem32DriverStoreFileRepository (drive files, occupy 1030MB).

Tips for Master Dong: Vista uses the NTFS format. If you are unable to delete a file in Windows XP, right-click on the file you want to select and select “Properties” and click on the “Security” tab. The current user's permission to delete files is set to “ Full Control”.

Backing up and restoring Vista on Windows XP

Although the speed of installing Vista has been greatly improved, but with the software + system installed by myself, the installation of the whole system is still relatively simple. Time-consuming, and because of the new system, many applications and Vista still have compatibility issues. Therefore, it is necessary to back up Vista after it has been installed. Now that we have installed dual systems, backup and recovery for Vista can be done easily in Windows XP via Ghost32 (download address: download.cpcw.com). Due to the large size of Vista, it is recommended to use Ghost32 8.3 or higher, which can generate image files larger than 2GB.

After running Windows XP, run Ghost32, click “localpartitionto image”, then select the second partition (install Vista partition), and then back up the partition to vista.gh. This will restore Vista later. Same as above, after starting Ghost32 in Windows XP, click “localpartitionfrom image”, and then select the created image file to return to the second partition.
