Microsoft says it takes at least two weeks to adapt to Windows 8 systems

On December 17th, Microsoft's new operating system, Windows 8, is quite different from previous desktop operating systems, changing the operating modes that many consumers are already familiar with. And Microsoft recently said that concerns about whether consumers can adapt to the new system are exaggerated, and people should not worry too much about it.

When interviewed by the Technology Review website, Microsoft shared some data to prove his point. They say that in general, consumers are adapting to and accepting a new operating system for a period of two to two weeks. Microsoft's Windows product development experience Julie Larson-Green told the Technology Review reporter that using Windows 8 system for about six weeks or so, consumers will gradually give up the familiar features of traditional Windows systems, and more use touch-based operations New features for developing Windows 8 systems.

But even if Microsoft's data is correct, it does not mean that Windows 8 is a perfect system. UI expert Jakob Nielsen had previously criticized the Windows 8 system for making consumers “distracted and confused”, he told the Technology Review reporter that Microsoft’s data only shows that after two weeks of smoother and more comfortable experience, Consumers can achieve a certain level of familiarity with Windows 8, and then learn to use. But even if consumers are no longer plagued by the complex new features of Windows 8, the new operating system will reduce people's operational efficiency.
