New contact lenses: equipped with a very thin LCD screen + wireless antenna

Usually people may choose contact lenses for their beauty, thin and thin, simple in structure and low in price. However, researchers at the Microsystems Technology Center at the University of Ghent in Belgium have developed a high-tech contact lens that displays information such as text graphics. This invention has broad prospects for human-computer interaction.

This contact lens is equipped with a flexible ultra-thin liquid crystal display and a wireless antenna. The signal is received from the mobile phone and computer and converted to display the image in front of the person. It can also display only monochrome —— if it is needed, it is suitable for sunglasses.

The project's lead researcher Jerry · Desmet said: "This is not science fiction, it does not replace TV and computer screens, but it is very practical in some specific situations. Imagine using this contact lens to navigate or read a new text message, it must be fun. ”
