Forced silent upgrade under Win7 IE9

Microsoft implemented the IE browser automatic upgrade plan in Windows system at the beginning of this year. The IE silent upgrade plan was first implemented in Australia and Brazil in January and is planned to be extended to other countries in 2012.

The details of the IE silent upgrade program is that Microsoft upgrades IE6/IE7 in XP to IE8 and IE8 in Vista/Win7 to IE9 under the premise that user system starts automatic update (Windows Update). .

As expected, this automatic upgrade program has affected the distribution of IE browser market share in Australia and Brazil. IE9 has shown an upward trend in both countries, accompanied by a decline in IE8 market share.

According to StatCounter statistics, IE9's market share increased sharply in February after the quiet upgrade of IE in January; but on the other hand, with the upgrade of IE8 to IE9, the old The market share of version IE6/IE7 has not changed much. This means that Microsoft's IE silent upgrade plan has little impact on XP users, and it also shows that Microsoft wants to pass this move "kill" IE6 browser does not seem to work.
