Microsoft confirms Windows 8 built-in app store

Microsoft officials have confirmed that the App Store will be one of the features of Windws 8.

Steven Sinofsky, president of Microsoft Windows, announced the development team for Windows 8 in his blog. A long list includes the App Store development team. This message also verified previous rumors.

The rumors and reports about the Windows App Store have been going on for more than a year. The Windows 8 files that were distributed in June 2010 show that Microsoft is eager to launch its own app store to compete with Apple.

On the other hand, Microsoft is also trying to avoid letting Apple obtain the trademark rights of the App Store name. Microsoft claims that the App Store is too common. If it is monopolized by Apple, it will limit the ability of competitors to describe their services.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said in May that the new operating system will be officially opened to consumers in 2012, but Microsoft later said that Ballmer was wrong. Microsoft Vice President Dan'l Lewin hinted in June that Windows 8 will be available in the fall of 2012.
