SSD installation Windows7 system optimization skills

The current market is still popular with 40G SSDs, so in order to properly use SSD space, we should optimize the SSD installation operating system, currently mainly for the SSD after the installation of Win7 Let's take a look at the SSD installation tips for SSD installation.

Disable hibernation

Once hibernation is enabled, the Windows system will create a hibernation file (hiberfil.sys) with the same memory size in the operating system disk. We can leave the computer every time. Shut down or go to sleep. The standard way to disable it is:

1. Click the Start menu and type “command” in the search box.

2. Right click on the "Command Prompt" that appears above and select "Run as administrator".

3. Enter the command in the DOS window: powercfg -h off.

Of course, there are many ways to disable the hibernation in the power management settings.

Modify page file settings

The main purpose of page files is similar to virtual memory. Windows 7 will store some data in the page file that it thinks may be used again soon, in physics. It is also used as an extended memory space in case of insufficient memory. There are still some applications that rely on page files. If you can't find the page file, then refuse to work. Set the location of the page file:

1. Click the Start menu, right click on "My Computer" and select "Properties". ".

2. In the "System" window that pops up, click "Advanced System Settings" on the left. Select the "Advanced" tab and click "Settings" in the "Performance" section below.

3. Select the change in the "Virtual Memory" item under the "Advanced" tab.

4. Deselect "Automatically manage the paging file size of all drives" and select the SSD drive letter.

5. Select "No paging file" and click "Settings" to ignore all warnings.

6. Select the second hard disk and select "System Management Size". 7. Click "Settings" to confirm. Restart the system and confirm that the page file has been transferred.

Close Index

Windows uses indexing services to help you improve your search speed. But this feature, born in the era of traditional mechanical hard drives, has no benefit for SSDs, it only increases CPU load and reduces the life of SSDs. Close the index service method:

1. Click the Start menu and type "services" in the search box to select the service setting tool.

2, find and double-click the "Windows Search" service. 3. Select "Disable" in "Startup Type". If it is running, click "Stop" and then OK.

Modify Windows System Restore

The system restore function can save a lot of SSD space. The default system restore space of Windows 7 is 3% to 5% of the hard disk capacity, for 40GB solid state. The hard drive should be around 1GB, and we can reduce it to below 300MB. Operation steps:

1, open the start menu, right click on "My Computer" and select "Properties".

2. Select "System Protection" in the left panel.

3. In "Protection Settings", select your SSD and click "Configure". 4, you can choose to "close system protection", you can also move the "maximum usage" to the far left, OK. The main optimization of the SSD installation win7 is to delete the pagefile.sys and hiberfil.sys, which can save a lot of space for the SSD.
