Windows2000/XP/2003 By default,

C, D, E ... are all shared by default, the share names are C$, D$, E$ ..., etc. An ADMIN$,

Because these share names are all terminated with $ (hidden), they cannot appear in the list of shared folders of My Network Places,
but these shares are actually present and can be directly Enter \\\\IP\\C$ or map the network drive to access the file and operate it.
You need to provide the administrator password when sharing (if the password is not empty).

In order to improve the security of Windows system We strongly recommend that you turn off this default share.

After running once, you can be permanent Remove ADMIN$, C$, D$... and other default shares.

Turning off sharing is only one aspect. We strongly recommend that you use a sufficiently complex administrator password to secure your computer.
