Introduction to Windows 2000 Outlook Express Window

  

In the taskbar, click the Outlook Express icon to open the main window of Outlook Express, as shown in Figure 13.1. Before learning Outlook Express, it is necessary for users to get to know the Outlook Express work interface, which will help users quickly master and use Outlook Express.

The main window of Outlook Express is mainly composed of menu bar, toolbar, view bar, folder list bar, contact list bar and Outlook Express start page. The following are introduced separately:

Menu Bar: Gives all menu items for Outlook Express, including File, Edit, View, Tools, Mail, and Help. Most of the operations in Outlook Express can be done through the menu bar.

Toolbar: Gives some common command buttons in Outlook Express to quickly enable the common features of Outlook Express. The number of buttons in the toolbar will change depending on the folder. There are mainly "new mail" button, "send/receive" button, "address book" button and "find" button, etc., users can also according to their own Need or like to customize the toolbar.

View Bar: gives the type of mail in the mailing list. Through the drop-down menu in the view bar, you can control the type of mail in the main form mailing list. By default, it displays "Show all mails". You can also choose to "Show a copy of all messages", "Hide read or ignored messages", and "Hide read messages".

Folder list bar: All folders are given, including folders created by users themselves, which can be used to classify and save information, including "Inbox", "Outbox", "Sent Mail" , "Deleted Mail", "Draft", Hotmail, and news server.

Contact List Bar: Gives a list of all contacts in the User Address Book. Users can manage their own contacts through it.

Outlook Express Start Page: There are some hyperlinks in the Outlook Express start page that users can click to jump to the appropriate folder or Internet Explorer component. For example, by clicking the "Read Mail" hyperlink, you can jump directly to your inbox and read the received mail.

Status Bar: Used to display the current working status of the user. In addition, when the user clicks on the folder list, the status bar will display the total number of messages or the number of unread messages in the folder list.
