Common problems with IIS under Windows Vista

The IIS settings in XP are very simple. It is often the problem that the parent path is enabled in 2003. However, in Vista
, the management interface and mode of IIS are very different. More is more, the most typical is the issue of permissions, especially the access of ASP and Access.

However, in the default installation, the IIS service is not enabled and needs to be re-opened. The method of opening is very simple, just follow the steps below:
"Start" → "Control Panel" → "Programs and Features", select "Turn Windows
function on or off". If Windows
Vista
does not close UAC, a message will pop up, confirm and continue; if you only need IIS 7.0 to support static content, you can directly select "Internet Information Service", if you want the Web server to support dynamic content, then You need to expand the "World Wide Web Service" branch and select all the required options; click "OK", Windows
Vista
to start the IIS installation process; after the installation process, you can enter: http in the browser ://localhost/for testing.
After the IIS7 installation is complete, you can see the "Administrative Tools" in all the programs in the Start menu. There is an "Internet Information Service Manager". If not, you can add it as follows: Start → Right click on Properties → "Start" Menu tab → Customize → Set the “System Management Tool” to “Display in all program menus” or “Display on all program menus and start menus”.
ASP+Access environment configuration
After installing IIS7 by default, using ASP program will find that the database connection fails, find it on the Internet, saying that the MS Jet engine changed the location of the temporary directory, but There is no temporary access to the database, causing database usage to fail.
First, set the Application Pool to Classic .Net AppPool instead of the default Default AppPool, which can be set for each site in the website directory, or it can be set separately at the site. After selecting the site to be set, click on "Basic Settings" on the right to bring up the Application Pool Settings dialog.
Then add a "Authenticated Users" user to the "System Disk: Windows
ServiceProfilesNetworkServiceAppDataLocalTemp" directory, where the AppData directory is hidden. You can enter the path directly in the address bar when entering, or in the folder options. Show hidden files.
Set permissions: Right click on the Temp folder, select "Properties" → select "Security" tab → click "Edit" → come out "Temp permissions" dialog box, click "Add", in the following " Enter the object name to select "Enter Authenticated Users, OK → Return to "Temp Permissions", give the full control in the Authenticated Users permission to the check, OK" OK.
Enable Parent Path Support
Select "ASP" on the site home page, then set "Enable Parent Path" to True in the Behaviors group.
This way, you can use the IIS environment on Windows
Vista
and XP.
