How to improve the running speed of Windows XP system

One mentions WindowsXP, many people may think that it is just a high-configuration computer to enjoy the operating system. Why is Windows XP consuming resources? In addition to the beautiful interface consumes a lot of memory and video memory, like Windows 2000, Windows XP runs many different services in the background by default, such as printer service, system automatic update service, etc., a considerable part of these services are for our individual users. It is said that it has no effect, and there are also great hidden dangers in terms of security. Therefore, it is very necessary to properly disable some system services not only to speed up the system but also to play a security role.

How to set up a service

First you need to use the Administrator user to log in to Windows XP, because only the administrator can have the right to change the service, then select “Administrative Tools →Service" in “Control Panel” ;, or directly in the "running" "Enter" & Services; msc & rdquo; open the service settings window, the right side of the window is displayed in the Windows system, all services are marked in the XP system, each service is marked Name, description, status, startup type, and login nature (Figure 1).

Auto: If a service is set to auto, it will run with Windows XP, which will increase the time required to start, but some services must be set to automatic, Because these services are closely related to the system, if set to other startup methods, the system will have problems, so it is best not to move them.

Manual: If a service is set to manual, the service will not start and will only be started when it is needed. This will save a lot of system resources.

Disabled: If a service is set to disabled, it means that the service will no longer be started, even if it is needed, it will not start if you think a service is true It's useless, you can choose it.
Which services should be banned

Among the many services, you may be a bit confused. How do I know which services should be reserved for which services? Oh, in fact, it is not difficult, each service has a simple description, by description you can roughly determine whether the service is needed. Schedules are services that can be turned off or disabled, and you can selectively turn them off.

Recovering misuse

If you accidentally set a service to "disabled", the system is not working properly, and then from the service window or running Services.msc Can not be modified, then the only solution is to modify the registry, find the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServices" key, under which all the services exist in the system, find the problem service, you will see a binary value on the right side ;Start”, modify its value to change its startup mode, “2” means automatic, “3” means manual, and “4” means disabled.
