Vista system IE7 Internet browsing shortcut operation skills

1. Add your own search engine to IE There are many built-in search providers in the search bar in the upper right corner of IE 7 for you to choose from. Click on the drop-down arrow to the right of the search bar to easily add more search engines, select "Find More Providers" and add them to the page that appears. But you can't be limited to using these search engines provided by Microsoft. You can build your own search engine and use the IE search bar to search for any website, no matter where you are on the internet. It should be noted that this site does not have to be the search engine itself; any website with search capabilities is fine. For example, if you frequently find content for sports, shopping, or travel sites, you can create a search engine for those sites and add them to the search bar in IE 7. First, click the drop-down arrow to the right of the search bar and select Find More Providers. In the page that appears, find "Create your own." In another tab, open the search engine you want to create in IE. In the search box of the site, type "TEST" and make sure you are using uppercase letters. After the search, copy the resulting URL from the address bar and paste it into the tab that "create your own". Next, in "Create your own," enter a search engine name. 2. Accelerate IE page load speed By default, IE only allows two sessions to be downloaded simultaneously from a single web server. This will affect the speed of your web browsing, because you can't download all the objects that make up the webpage at the same time, so the page will display much slower. If you can force IE to download more objects at the same time, the page will display much faster. A Windows registry modification technique can do this. With this modification, you can force IE to use more than two simultaneous sessions. The best number is 10. Here are the steps: 1) Enter "regedit" in the command line or in the Windows Vista Start Search box to open the Registry Editor. 2) Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Internet Settings. 3) Select "Edit" > "New" > "DWord Value". 4) Create a new DWord value, name it MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server, and set its value to 10. 5) Select "Edit" > "New" > "DWORD Value" to create another DWord value called MaxConnectionsPerServer and set its value to 10. It should be noted that if you want to set more than 10 values, then the values of the two DWords should be set the same. ) 6) Exit the Registry Editor and exit IE. When you restart IE, the new value will speed up your browsing. Click the "Install" button to install the new search engine into IE. You will see a prompt to confirm if you want to install. Click "Add Provider." Now your newly added search engine is ready to use. Click on the arrow to the right of the search bar and you will see the options you have added to the list. Now you can use it like any other search engine. 3. Quickly view the last update time of the webpage When browsing a website, how can the viewer as a viewer know when the webpage you are currently viewing is updated? Some websites will be last updated in XX time on the obvious page of the webpage. But for a web page that is not written, we can still know its exact update time by first opening the site and then typing: Javascript:alert(document.lastModifIEd) in the address bar of the browser. After confirmation, a message box will pop up with the last update time listed in the box. 4, quickly reach the IE root directory If we are using IE to browse the web, suddenly want to check the data on the hard disk, what can I do? Minimize the browser, and then return to the resource manager to find, this is the most The usual practice. But have you ever thought about a simpler way? Follow it. In fact, the method is really simple. Just type "\\" in the address bar and hit enter, you can reach the root directory of the hard disk. If you want to return to the original page, just click "Back" to do it.

5. Controlling Multiple Tabs Anyone who has tried tabbed browsing will appreciate that it is much better than using a separate window to view how different websites are viewed. But once you use it, you are easily lost in the ocean of tabs. IE7 includes a number of shortcuts to help you find the right tabs quickly. To view all open tabs in a thumbnail of the grid, simply click on the "Quick Navigation Tab" button to the left of the tab. Or to view it in the drop-down menu of all open tabs, just click the drop-down arrow "tab list" next to the "Quick Navigation Tab" button. Is it sometimes necessary to close other tabs than the one currently being viewed? This is very simple, just right click on the open tab you want to keep and select "Close other tabs" in the pop-up menu. Finally, do you get bored with the pop-up prompt asking if you really want to close all tabs? It’s easy to make this prompt disappear forever. The next time you see it pop up, click on "Show Options" and select that the dialog will no longer pop up when you click the Close tab. If you don't want to be prompted every time you close IE and ask if you want to close multiple tabs, you can follow the steps below: 1) Click the "Tools" button and select "Internet Options". 2) In the displayed dialog box, click the "General" tab, then click "Settings" under "Tabs". 3) Remove the check box "When the multiple tabs are closed". 4) Click "OK" and click "OK" again. This warning will never happen again. 6. Accelerate webpage download If you browse a webpage that is relatively fixed, you can increase the cache speed by speeding up the cache. If the page you are browsing is not fixed every time, the cache should not be too large, preventing the browser from wasting search time in the hard disk cache. To change the size of the cache specifically, find the "Internet Options" in the "Tools", click the "Settings" button in "Temporary Internet Files" in "General", set "Use Disk Space", and click "OK". If you are browsing a webpage that is relatively fixed, increasing the cache appropriately will speed up browsing. However, if the page you are browsing is not fixed, the cache should not be set too large to prevent the browser from wasting search time in the hard disk cache. To change the size of the cache, you can find the "Internet" option in the "Tools", click the "Settings" button in "Temporary Internet Files" in "General", set "Use Disk Space", click "OK" . 7. Let IE start up to enter the registry editor, select "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\InternetExplorer\\Main\\", delete the "Window_Placement" key in the right window, and also at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\" InternetExplorer\\Desktop\\OldWorkAreas" delete the "OldWorkAreaRects" button in the right window, close the registry, restart the computer, maximize the IE window twice ("maximize" - "restore" - "maximize"), restart IEOK again It is.

8. Modifying IE to print better IE7 provides you with many ways to control web page printing, including whether to print headers and footers, headers and footers, and whether to print webpages. Thumbnails and so on. Changing the print options is easy. Click the drop-down arrow next to the print icon on top of IE and select Print Preview. A window will open showing the preview of the page print. The icons on the page are the way to control how the page is printed. They are all very intuitive and can be understood directly by looking at the meaning, including printing in portrait and landscape modes, reducing font fill to make it more suitable for paper, and controlling whether to display headers and footers when printing. For example, to turn headers and footers on or off, just click the fifth icon from the left or press Alt-E. This preview display will change depending on whether the header and footer are displayed. When you have finished setting up, click the print icon on the page. If you like, you can also modify what is actually displayed in the header and footer when you print. In the "Print Preview" screen, click the geared "Page Setup" icon. The Page Setup dialog will pop up. The header and footer input pane tells IE what to print at the header and footer. By default, it appears in the Header pane: w&b page number, &p/&P(&W). This is to tell the IE print window title (&w); print the word "page code" next to it, and the rest of the text is on the right (&bPage); then a space and then print the page number ( &p ); then print the total number of pages ( &P) after another space. The footer pane shows: &u&b&d. This is the date (&b&d) that lets IE print the URL (&u) and then print the short date format. For example, if you are looking at the home page of the New England football team (www.patriots.com), time is November 20, 2007, then the title of the window is "Official Web site of the New England Patriots" (New England football) The official website of the team) and the header of the page will be printed like this: Official Web site of the New England Patriots Page 1 of 2 The footer will print like this: http://www.patriots.com 11/20/2007 You can change what is displayed in the header and footer by changing the text and code in the header and footer panes in the Page Setup dialog box. 9. Let the menu bar go where it should be. Many users complain that the menu bar in IE7 has disappeared. If you want to turn it on temporarily, you can press the Alt key. If you want it to always exist, choose Tools > Menu Bar. Even after you do this, you still feel a little weird. Unlike earlier versions of IE, the menu bar is below the address bar, but above it. You can solve this problem by modifying the registry. 1) Open the "Registry Editor". 2) Go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Internet Explorer\\Toolbar\\WebBrowser". 3) Select "Edit" > "New" > "DWord Value". 4) Create a new DWord value called "ITBar7Position" and give it a value of 1. 5) Exit the registry and close IE. Then reopen it. The menu bar will now return to the address bar.
