The little-known win7 flash disk encryption feature

After the XX event, I believe that all netizens have higher security requirements for the preservation of some privacy files in their computers. In order to avoid being easily obtained by people with a heart, the most convenient and quick way is to encrypt these files that need to be kept secret. So, how do you encrypt these files? If you are a win7 user, you can use BitLocker to add the encryption function of the "native" to the flash drive, and the operation is quite simple.
Keep the password decrypted and use the flash drive
Now, we will find that the drive letter of this encrypted flash drive device has changed a bit, here will become a lock icon, which represents the flash drive The file has been successfully encrypted and the data is secured.
When you need to use it, we need to double-click the drive letter. A dialog box will pop up. Enter the correct unlock password in the “Type the password to unlock this drive” text box, click “Unlock” in the lower right corner. ; button, then you can perform normal file read and write operations. If you don't want to enter your password every time you use an encrypted flash drive, you can check the “Automatically unlock this on your computer from now on” check box when you enter your password, and you can use it directly on this computer later. An encrypted flash drive, of course, if you are using it on another computer, you still need to enter the correct password.
If you are using Windows Vista or Windows XP, you can also use the flash drive encrypted in Windows 7. The flash drive letter will also have a lock icon, but you need to right click to select &ldquo ; BitLocker To Go Reader”, then enter the correct password to unlock. However, in Windows Vista or Windows XP, the flash disk processed by "BitLocker" under Windows 7 can only perform limited operations such as viewing and copying after decryption, and cannot perform write operations. It is for reasons of safety.
Step by step Fast encryption of flash drives
In fact, as early as the Windows Vista era, the operating system has provided a security function called BitLocker, but only in the enterprise version and the flagship version. Windows 7's BitLocker is more powerful, and users don't need to make any additional settings (such as modifying Group Policy). Just log in to the system as an administrator, connect the encrypted flash drive to the computer correctly, open the “Computer” window and follow the steps below:
Step 1: Right click on the flash drive from the shortcut menu Select “Enable BitLocker”, then the “BitLocker Drive Encryption” wizard will pop up. Please select the unlock method according to your needs. It is recommended to select “Use password to unlock the drive”, enter the password twice in succession, click “Under” One step & rdquo; button to continue.
Step 2: You can choose to save the recovery key to a file (so you don't forget it), or you can print the recovery key. If you choose the former, we will get a file name similar to “BitLocker recovery key 0B374660 -8D1D-4B3F-B96E-6CF027DDA9E5.txt” text file, click the “Next” button to continue.
Step 3: After entering the next window, click the “Enable Encryption” button, Windows 7 will officially start encrypting the flash drive. The encryption time depends mainly on the capacity and file capacity of the flash drive, waiting patiently for a moment. Encryption is complete.
Closing the encryption function
If you need to cancel the BitLocker encryption protection, you must still enter the Windows 7 operating system, enter the control panel, select "System and Security & Rarr; BitLocker Drive Encryption", and find the BitLocker encryption. For the flash drive, click the “BitLocker” button on the right side, click the “Decrypt Drive” button, and then follow the prompts to turn off the encryption function. Interested friends can try it.
But the encryption software currently on the market is uneven, and some are pseudo-encryption. The so-called encryption is simply to hide the file. Win7's flash disk encryption function in win7 can easily keep your files in a safe state. What are you waiting for?
