Teach you to build a universal Windows package

For those computer geeks who often need to take a friend down or reinstall the operating system, the long waits each time you install a Windows system are tantamount to one torture. Although there are partition mirroring software such as Ghost, but each computer configuration is different, the Windows detection of hardware is not the same, coupled with the unique activation strategy of Windows XP/2003, which seems to make Ghost useless. In fact, these are not unsolved. As long as the automatic answer file is combined with Ghost, we can also create a Windows package for all computers, so that it takes only ten minutes to complete the tedious installation of the previous few hours. . First, uninstall the driver Everyone knows that when installing Windows for the first time, the system will detect the current computer hardware and install the corresponding driver, so you need to uninstall various drivers before a normal Windows package. And it is also necessary for the final package to be used in other computers. 1. Uninstalling the hardware driver Uninstalling the hardware driver is not freely uninstalled in the device manager. It must be performed in a certain order. Usually we can refer to the steps such as network card, USB device, sound card, graphics card, and display. When uninstalling the driver, first select a device from the device manager, then right-click and select the "Uninstall" command from the pop-up menu. 2. Change ACPI attribute ACPI is the meaning of advanced power management. Although most computers now support ACPI function, the ACPI type of different motherboards is different. If you use the ACPI of the computer used by others, then the computer will not be soft. For shutdown failures, be sure to change the ACPI properties for this purpose. To change the ACPI properties, first select “Computer →ACPI Uniprocessor PC" from the Explorer, and then select the "Update Drivers" command from the right mouse button menu. In the Driver Update Wizard that appears, select &ldquo ; Install &rarr from the list or specified location; do not search, I have to choose the program to install by yourself, change the ACPI type to "Standard PC". 3. Changing the Drive Properties During the process of creating a Windows package, it is very important to change the properties of the disk drive. If you ignore this step, other computers will use this package to install Windows and then there will be a failure to boot the computer and restart. . So we need to change the IDE controller to a standard dual-channel PCI IDE controller to make it suitable for today's different types of motherboards. First find the currently used IDE controller from Explorer's "IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller". Right click the mouse and select "Change Driver" from the pop-up menu, then the driver appears. In the update wizard, select “ install &rarr from the list or specified location; do not search, I have to choose the program to be installed, and finally select "Standard dual-channel PCI IDE controller" from the window. After completing the above three aspects of driver uninstallation, you can basically use the Windows auto answer file to create the package. However, it is important to note that no matter whether you uninstall the hardware driver or change the related properties, the system will prompt you to restart the computer after you finish. Remember not to restart the computer. Instead, the program will automatically shut down the computer during the repackaging process below. Otherwise, after rebooting the computer, the system will prompt you to discover new hardware and install a new driver.
Second, create an automatic answer file Familiar with Windows 9x/2000 friends know that the system provides a hidden automatic answer file program, and Windows XP also has this file, with which it is very convenient to complete the creation of automatic answer file operating. First find the file named deploy.cab from the "\\support\\tools" directory of the Windows XP installation CD, extract it to the hard disk, run the setupmgr.exe file to activate the installation manager wizard, below Let's try it together. The first step When you run the installation manager for the first time, the program will ask you to create a new file or modify the saved answer file. In general, select “Create new file”. The second step is followed by three installation types, in which the answer file for unattended installation is generally Unattend.txt; the Sysprep installation can select the answer file, which is generally used in the automatic installation mode; the remote installation service allows us to remotely Install the server to install Windows, here we choose the "Sysprep" type to continue. The third step is to select the Windows version corresponding to the answer file. At this time, according to your actual situation, for example, the author selects “Windows XP Professional”. The fourth step in the pop-up window can choose whether to fully auto-install, in general, it is recommended to select "yes, completely automatic installation", otherwise it is more troublesome to install the system with this package CD. Step 5 Click on the “Next” button to enter the installation manager interface. It is not difficult to find out that this is the various information that we need to manually input during the normal installation of Windows XP, so we set the parameters here. After that, you can achieve unattended automatic installation. However, not all of this information has to be entered, just set the name and unit, time zone, product key, computer name and other parameters, but the language must select <;Chinese (Simplified)” otherwise Installed Windows XP may affect your normal use! Step 6 Finally, you can see a result window. Here you can save the path information of the answer file. After confirming, you can complete the creation of the auto answer file. Repackaging After completing the above operations, the system needs to be repackaged. At this time, just double-click the sysprep.exe file from the unzipped folder in the Windows XP installation CD, click “OK” and then prepare the package. There are several buttons in the new window, where the "Audit Start" & "The Factory" button is of little use, but the following options are more important, here is a brief introduction. 1. PnP: It is used to detect plug-and-play hardware. Generally, this item is checked, so that the system will detect non-plug and play hardware in the computer during installation, and some old-level hardware can be used normally. 2. MiniSetup: Minimize the installation. It is generally recommended to check this box. 3. NoSIDGen: Does not generate a security identifier, which avoids annoying Windows XP activation detection, so it needs to be checked. 4. Activated in advance: Checking this option means that the Windows XP system has been activated by default, and it is recommended to use it for convenience. After the setup is complete, click on the “Repackage” button at the top, and the Windows system will automatically repackage the computer and automatically shut down the computer when it is finished. At this time, the partition that originally installed Windows XP is a clean package system disk. Finally, the computer can be booted into DOS mode through a floppy disk or a CD. It can be cloned and mirrored by Ghost and then saved as a CD, so that it can be used on other computers. Install Windows XP quickly. Fourth, note Although the above method can be used to create a new Windows XP package, but there are some notable places in the whole process and use, I would like to remind everyone. 1. Before packaging, you can clean up the junk files in the system and perform defragmentation to optimize the Windows system. This ensures that the package files are the smallest and the best. 2. When creating the auto answer file, the computer name and installation serial number must be entered correctly. When the Ghost recovery is completed, the system has not found the mouse and keyboard drivers. They are all unavailable, so they cannot be entered. Any character is completely dependent on the auto answer file to automatically enter. 3. When burning the image file obtained by Ghost, you can make it as the system boot CD, and add the Ghost program auto-run command in the batch process, which can simplify the trouble of manually inputting various instructions. 4. After installing the Windows XP system through the package, there are also targeted installations of various hardware drivers. However, if you are only using a quick recovery installation of your own computer, you can ignore the initial uninstall driver steps. 5. Interested friends can also calculate the size of the Ghost image file, use the extra space to install some system patches, necessary software, etc., which makes it easier for us to use the computer directly. How, Windows XP can also be installed quickly in this way. If you want to experience the convenience of the quick recovery system, let's try it. I believe this package installation will let your friends around you. Look at it!
