What causes the file and folder to be hidden

Q: I set “ not to show hidden files and folders in “folder options”→“view”, but why are the files still showing hidden files and folders?
A: This is mainly due to the following reasons.
1. Some data in the registry has been changed. We can change it directly by running "ldedit", find
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\Advanced\\Folder\\Hidden\\SHOWALL
find the DWORD value in the right window“ CheckedValue”, double-click to open its properties and change its value to “1”
2. The data in the registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\Advanced\\Folder\\Hidden
is corrupted or missing. Solution: Find Hidden.reg on the Windows XP installation CD, double-click it, and then click the "OK" button to add the complete registry data to the current system registry.
Small Tip: When you change the value of “CheckedValue” to  quo;0”, you will not be able to change the state of the currently displayed (or hidden) hidden file. We can use this method cleverly to prevent others from hiding (or displaying) hidden files.
