Quick self-help emergency Windows recovery disk (1)

Step 1: Use DOS boot disk or install vFloppy to enter DOS, use Ghost to make the current system image placed in F:\\. Because the emergency system is made here, in order to reduce the system size and improve the stability of the system, it is recommended to upgrade the virus database and system patches before deleting the image, and delete unnecessary programs and junk files, and optimize the system (disk scan and Defragmentation).

The second step: The emergency system here is to restore the original system GHO to the second partition, so first transfer all the data of the D disk to other partitions. In order not to take up too much hard disk space, you can use XP disk management to repartition the D partition. For example, many computers have a large capacity of the D drive, and now a 5GB dedicated partition is allocated to accommodate the emergency system.

After entering XP, first transfer all data of D disk to E disk. Right click on the desktop "My Computer" and select "Manage" to open the Computer Management window. Expand Storage→Disk Management, select the D drive in the right pane, right-click and select “Delete Logical Drive”. In the confirmation delete window that pops up, click “OK” to delete the D drive (Figure 1).

Step 3: After the partition is deleted, right click on the undivided space and select “New Logical Drive”. The Create Partition Wizard pops up, click “Next” as prompted. Select New Logical Drive and enter 5120MB in the window where the specified partition size appears. The remaining space creates other partitions.

Dong Shifu Tip:

If there is no other space left to store the D drive data, you can also use the partition magician PQmagic to adjust the space of the D drive.

Step 4: Since GHO is restored to a non-system partition, you can use Ghost32.exe to operate in XP. After running Ghost32.exe, select "local→Partition→From Image" in the menu, and restore the previously created GHO image to the D drive (the new partition created above).

Tips for Master Dong:

If you have a GHO universal image downloaded from the Internet, you can also directly restore the downloaded image to the D drive to quickly install the dual system.

Step 5: Click “Tools” → “Folder Options” → “View” in Explorer to set the file viewing mode to “Show Protected Hidden System Files” and “Show All Files”. . Then find "c:\\boot.ini" and right click and select "Properties" to remove the "Read Only" attribute. Then with Notepad "boot.ini", add the following statement following the original text line, waiting while the multi-boot menu changes to "timeout = 1" 1 second (FIG. 2):
