Firefox2 and Firefox3 coexist under Windows (1)

Compared with Firefox2, Firefox3 has many improvements in performance, stability and security in addition to the new Gecko 1.9 engine. There are also quite a few improvements in web applications. At the end of last year, Firefox3 beta2 has been released, and the official version is also not far off. It is time to consider it in web development, so we not only have multiple browsers and multiple versions of IE in the same system. Multiple IE), now we also need to install two versions of Firefox. There is an introduction to the coexistence of Firefox3 and Firefox2 under Linux on the Internet. The following describes a method for coexistence between Windows.

Download Firefox3, currently beta2.

Open the command run window (Start > Run or shortcut win+R), then run the command firefox -profilemanager -no-remote to open the Firefox configuration file manager. The –no-remote naming allows the profile manager to be opened while the browser is running.

Click the "Create Profile" button to create a profile called Firefox3 or another name. Remove the option "Do not ask when starting". This step is to create a new configuration file for Firefox3.

Right-click on the shortcut in Firefox2 and select Properties. Enter a space and -p default after the .exe in the "target" input box, then close. This step tells the shortcut to use the default configuration file to run Firefox 2.
