Introduction to desktop search that comes with Windows itself (1)

"Desktop Search" is no longer a strange word. When the desktop search software is flying, don't forget that our Windows itself has a search function. Although it is not very powerful, it can be used for a lot of purposes.

First, the search assistant I want to change

Just press the "Search" button () in the Explorer, you can open the Windows Search Wizard. However, the first thing that caught our attention is probably the cute little yellow dog. It is our search assistant. Of course, you may not want to let the dog be your assistant. It doesn't matter, let's change one. Click "Change Preferences" → "Use a different character" in the wizard, and then choose one of the four assistants provided by the system (Figure 1).

Second, search directory speed positioning

To select the search scope in the search wizard, we just need to click the "Look here" drop-down box, and then choose a location from it . However, there are only common hard disk partitions and common directories such as "My Documents". How can I customize a search directory? Note that at the bottom of the drop-down menu, there is a "Browse" word, click on it to open a directory selection window. That's right, just select the directory you need to search here, then "OK" (Figure 2).
