XP network failure solution (1)

Fault 1. Local connection is restricted or no connection

[Fault phenomenon] Every time you enter Windows XP system, a prompt "Local connection is restricted or no connection" will pop up, and the network connection There is a yellow exclamation mark.

[Fault Analysis] If it is an intranet, check if the intranet server has assigned an IP to the computer, or do you want to specify the IP manually? If it is ADSL dial-up Internet access, then if the network setting of the network card is "automatically obtain an IP address", this will be the case if the IP address is not obtained. Because the network server of the network service provider will only allocate one IP to the virtual network card of ADSL, it will not be assigned an IP to that network card.

[Troubleshooting] The easiest way is to right-click the NIC on the system tray, click the "Status → Properties" button to open the Local Connection Properties dialog box, and remove the "General" tab. Notify me when this connection is restricted or no connection "√" in front of the option. But doing so will cause Windows XP to search the DHCP server every time it is booted to get a dynamic IP, which affects the speed of booting the system. The best way is to remove the "√" in front of the "Notify me when this connection is restricted or no connection" option, then double-click "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" in the "This connection uses the following items", select "Use below" IP address", then enter for example 192.168.1.1 (IP address), 255.255.255.0 (subnet mask), manually specify the IP to speed up the startup speed of Windows XP.

Fault 2. Windows XP cannot establish a correct connection

[Fault phenomenon] When establishing a network connection under Windows XP, the connection error is indicated.

[Fault Analysis] This kind of fault is generally considered from the login password error, the software and hardware of the network card.

[Troubleshooting] First, start IE browser, click "Tools/Internet Options", switch to the "Connection" tab, enter the password to complete; if the fault persists, then check the software and hardware of the network card. Right click on the desktop "My Computer", select "Properties /Hardware", click "Device Manager", check whether the network card has a yellow exclamation point in the opened interface, if there is a yellow exclamation point, reinstall the network card driver, if you can not solve If the fault occurs, the NIC driver is uninstalled and reinstalled. After the installation is completed, if it still cannot be connected normally, you can double-click the connection and set the IP address and subnet mask of "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" in "Properties". If the hardware and system are normal, you should be able to Normally connected.
