What are the configuration requirements for Windows XP system?

Many users will ask why there are people using xp system in the case of many people using win 7? In fact, xp system needs to be used in many users' work, then Windows XP, which looks like a beautiful operating system, what kind of computer can be used for it? Many friends are very concerned about this problem, especially the friends who bought the machine a year or two ago. Now, let me talk about the configuration of the machine as far as I actually install the running Windows XP on different configuration computers.

This is described in Microsoft's documentation:

* 233 megahertz (MHz) Pentium or higher processor

* 128 megabytes (MB) recommended ( 64 MB of RAM minimum; 4 gigabytes (GB) of RAM max)

* 1.5 GB free hard disk space

* VGA monitor

* Keyboard

* Mouse or other class is a product

* CD-ROM or DVD drive

……

There are three important aspects: CPU, memory, hard disk, I installed Intel Saiyang 400, 433; Pentium 733, AMD Duron600; memory 128M-384M, and found that:

The Celeron 400, 433 computer is running normally, the game is smooth, but browsing the web Some are slow. If you open multiple other applications such as Photoshop, FrontPage, etc. when you are online, the operation is very slow, especially in Photoshop. The effect is not obvious in Windows 2000. In addition, even if you choose the best performance, turn off all effects, it is not very fast. And installed and running on the Pentium 733, AMD's Duron 600, running smoothly and fast, choose the best appearance, open all special effects, still run fast without delay.

From the above situation we can see:

For CPUs with Celeron 400 or the same frequency, if you plan to run many large programs such as Photoshop at the same time, it is recommended not to installation. If you just use the Internet, write a document, play a game, run a single large program, you can install it.

Also for computers with less than 128M memory, it is not recommended to install.

Another problem is the problem of hard disk space. For the space where Windows XP is installed, the recommended minimum is 2G. This minimum value includes the space of the system disk required for future software installations. Of course, this minimum needs to optimize the hard disk space occupied by Windows XP. Windows XP generally takes about 1.4G (128m memory) after installation. Of course, this is related to your memory, because we know that the system will just create a virtual memory file pagefile.sys in the partition where the system is installed. The size of the hard disk space used by the hibernation feature enabled by default is related to the size of physical memory.

In general, although many netizens said that the CPU above 600Mhz is the ideal platform for installing Windows XP, it is good, but for ordinary users, CPU400 Mhz, memory 128M can also be installed, running fairly Smooth.

Although xp is an operating system used by many people, it still has requirements for the hardware of the computer. If your computer age is a long time, then it is best not to install it.
