Delete "useless" thumbnail cache files in the system

We know that in Microsoft's Windows XP/Server 2003 operating system, when we browse BMP, JPEG, GIF, GIF and other images in thumbnails or slideshows in Explorer, we are even browsing PDFs. In the HTM format of the document, the default thumbnail cache is automatically generated by default. This is the Thumbms.db file that appears again after deletion. These files are always repeated under the image folder.

However, when you enter the Windows Vista era, you will find that Thumbs.db has not been found under the image folder. Have they changed the evil and no longer exist? Of course not. In fact, Microsoft's designers just changed the way thumbnails are stored. They are stored together in a centralized location. The path is located at "X:\\Users\\Administrator\\AppData\\Local\\Microsoft\\Windows\\Explorer\\", where "X" : " is the drive letter of the Windows Vista installation disk. As shown in the figure, here we can see a lot of files with file names similar to thumbcache_sr.db. These files are very large and take up a lot of disk space. For example, the size of this file reaches an astonishing 159MB. More, it is recommended to clean up regularly. However, when deleting these files, you need to obtain the appropriate permissions. If you are afraid of trouble, simply restart to another system and periodically complete the deletion.

Tip: If you want to cancel the function of caching thumbnails under windows xp, you can open the "Folder Options → View" dialog box, and check the "Do not cache thumbnails" check box here.
