Adjusting Windows XP registry

Windows XP limits the speed of broadband connection. Does it mean that we can transform the operating system and get faster Internet access speed?

A: Now broadband networks are gradually entering the home and getting a wide range of applications, but some broadband users have slower web browsing speeds, uploading and downloading speeds. In fact, in Windows 2000 or XP, by modifying the registry, we can make the speed of the broadband network greatly improved, and really enjoy the fun of speed Internet access.

Run “regedit” to open “Registry Manager ; then, find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Services\\Tcpip\\Parameters by the following path.

Right-click on the corresponding blank space to the right of the sub-key; select “New”→“DWORD value”, name it "ldquo;DefaultTTL", and then right click Select “Modify" in the pop-up window to modify its value to < 80& rdquo; (hex) or 128 (decimal).

Then create the following "DWORD value" and modify its value (if there are two values, the former is hexadecimal and the latter is decimal):

“EnablePMTUBHDetect&rdquo ;=“0”

“EnablePMTUDiscovery”=“1”

<quo;GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize”=“7FFF” or“32767”

“TcpMaxDupAcks&rdquo ;=“2”

“SackOpts”=“1”

<;Tcp1323Opts”=“1”

<;TcpWindowSize”=&ldauo;7FFF&rdquo ; or “32767” (93440 or 186880 or 372300, depending on the network)

Then save our changes, restart the computer, you can enjoy the fun of higher network speed. .
