Windows XP does an excellent job of upgrading and installing it. There are three ways to install it: upgrade installation, dual system coexistence installation, and new installation. We can successfully upgrade to Windows XP based on the previous Windows 98/98 SE/Me/2000 operating systems. The core code of Windows XP is based on Windows 2000, so upgrading from Windows 2000 is naturally very easy.

Here we introduce you install Windows XP.

1. placed in a state WINDOWS CD auto run, questioning whether to install WINXP, use the mouse to select "Install Windows XP".

2. You can select "Upgrade (Recommended)" and "New Installation (Advanced)" in the checkbox. When the language versions are inconsistent, you cannot use "Upgrade" and you can only install them. There are no system compatibility issues with the new installation.

3. Accept the agreement and enter the registration code.

4. Choose to support other East Asian languages ​​(Install support for East Asian languages), of course, also includes Chinese. Select "Chinese(PRC)" for the language.

5. Click the "Advanced Options" option in step 5.

6. Enter the source directory of the installation in the text box required by "Copy installation files from this folder"; BR>
7. Enter the target directory for the installation in the text box required for "To this folder on my hard drive". Note that the target directory does not have a drive letter. If you want to choose which drive letter to install, check "I want to choose the install drive letter and partition during Setup" below.

8. "Copy all installation files from the Setup CD" is to copy the files on the installation disk to the hard disk. When installing from a CD, it generally does not copy the entire installation source file to the hard disk. Instead, it creates a list of copied files at the time of installation and copies them by list.

9. "I want to choose the install drive letter and partition during Setup" is used to change the WINXP installation directory.

10. The "Accessibility Options" option in step 5, which is the auxiliary option (for disabled people).
a) Select "Use Microsoft MagnifIEr during Setup" is "Use Microsoft Magnifier", the font will be displayed very large.
b) Select "Use Microsoft Narrator during Setup" is "Use Microsoft Narrator", each step has English voice prompts, very clear.

11. After rebooting, select "TO set up Windows XP now, press ENTER", that is, install WINXP.

12. disk format conversion, select "To convert the drive to NTFS, press C" to convert the FAT (or FAT32) disk format to NTFS format conversion confirmation knock "C". Select "To select a different partition for Windows XP, press ESC" to reselect the partition ("ESC").

13. Enter the installation, copying files, showing the progress of copying files.

14. file copy is completed, the format conversion into the disk, the disk format is converted to NTFS. After the conversion is completed, it will be restarted once, and it will restart once more than without converting the disk format. Check it after the start, and you can see the XP interface.

15. Select "Region and Language". When installing the English version of XP and wanting it to support Chinese, the options for this screen are more important.
a) Tips above: Set "Standard and Format" to "English (United States)" and "Location" to "United States". If you want English XP to support Chinese (without the Chinese package), you should click "Customize", then set "Standard and Format" to "Chinese SimplifIEd (China PRC)" and set the location to "China".
b) Tips in the middle: The default language and method for text input is the American keyboard. If you want to view or change, click "Details" and select "Install files for East Asian languages". English XP can support Chinese. You can select "China" and "Chinese" in the above "Regional and Language".

16. Enter the name and company/organization name, used when registering. You can see this information later by right clicking on "My Computer" and selecting "Properties".

18. Enter the computer name and system administrator password. XP does not use administrator login when it starts normally, it only appears in "safe mode" (safe mode only system administrator can log in).

19. “Date and time” setting: The drop-down box below is the time zone. In China, “(GMT +08:00) Beijing Chongqing Urumqi” should be selected.

20. Network Settings: General selected from "Typical settings (typically set)." If you need other protocols such as IPX, NetBEUI, etc., click on "Custom settings" below. This can be changed in future network properties and does not need to be set here.

21. Install selected installation components, help files, etc., and install the [Start] menu item, register components, save settings, and delete used temporary files. After rebooting, enter the dazzling screen of WINXP (you need to set up Windows XP).

22. Registration. Generally choose "Do not register now".

23. Enter the username to use this computer, which will appear in the list at login. It can also be added in the "Control Panel - User Account" after the system is installed. The username entered here has the privileges of the system administrator, and there is no password. You also need to create a password and change permissions in the User Account. At least one should be entered. It is recommended to enter only one and add it later.
