Microsoft released Windows XP SP2 blue screen fix patch

Although today is not the second week of the month of Tuesday (Microsoft monthly patch release date), but Microsoft Washington Redman Development Headquarters announced a repair Windows XP Service on its Windows Update website Pack 2 (SP2) Patch for critical vulnerabilities and posted to the user's computer using Automatic Update.

This vulnerability was reported in December 2004 and affects both Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005. In some cases, when installing a third-party anti-virus software or firewall, Windows cannot specify the title of the creator or packager, causing the read "Stop 0x05 (INVALID_PROCESS_ATTACH_ATTEMPT)" error to be entered, causing the OS to enter the blue screen state. Ironically, Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates had encountered a blue screen error when he showed Windows Media Center at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January.

According to Microsoft's report, this problem is not a real vulnerability, caused by a bug in the Http.sys code that caused the memory stack to overflow. Unlike other fixes, this patch was announced on the Windows Update service site on Tuesday and added to the Automatic Update.
