A large number of font files are not only physically strong, but also take up a lot of space, which can seriously drag down the speed of the system and some graphics processing software. In addition, the System Restore folder also takes up a lot of disk space.
2. Legacy files after software uninstallation

Since most softwares in Windows use dynamic link libraries (DLLs), some software designs are not mature enough, resulting in many software being uninstalled. Often left in the hard disk some folders, *.dll files, *.hlp files and registry keys and a variety of unknown small things, become a veritable garbage, as shown in Figure 3.

How to delete junk files

1. Delete temporary files generated by the system

Windows garbage generated during installation and use includes temporary files ( Such as *.tmp, *._mp, etc.), temporary backup files (such as *.bak, *.old, *.syd, etc.), temporary help files (*.gid), disk check data files (*.chk) and * Other temporary files such as .dir, *.dmp, *.nch. You can use the "find" function of the system to find out the "junk" from the hard disk. To delete all these files, right click and select Delete, as shown in Figure 5. The two temporary folders "C:\\Temp" and "C:\\Windows\\Temp" are also "garbage" breeding places, which are temporary files stored in the file, which can be safely deleted.

2. Delete the files that are not commonly used

In the "Control Panel", enter the "Add/Remove Programs" window, delete the program components that are not needed in the "Add or Remove Windows Components" option. , as shown in Figure 6. Some program files in the system can also be deleted. For example, in the "C:\\WINNT\\driver cache\\i386" directory of Windows 2000, there is a compressed file named "driver.cab" with a size of about 50 megabytes.
