Two ways to replace the computer browser

Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser (IE) has long been the target of hackers' favorite, and the newly discovered security vulnerabilities have emerged over the years, just to make hackers even worse. In fact, Microsoft has been researching a new security vulnerability that has not yet been patched in recent days, which may expose users to the danger of cyber attacks.

Meanwhile, Firefox browser popularity, has provided another alternative to computer users - so far hundreds of people choose to try. Although Firefox also inevitably has its own security issues to face, Firefox's default installation environment is quite secure and does not support ActiveX control components that often cause security issues.

So, if IE security flaw has been patched so that you had enough, how to lift or remove Internet Explorer? If you are using Windows 2000 or XP operating system, the following is a mixed bag of news :

The bad news is that once you remove IE, your Windows will inevitably become a crappy operating system. But the good news is that you can turn off IE for users and switch to another browser.

have several common and easiest way to turn off the function with IE users browsing the web. The simplest one is to add a fake proxy server to IE's Internet Settings.

Please follow the steps below:

Enter IE and select "Tools" - "Internet Options".

Press the "Connections" tab and click the "Local Area Network (LAN) Settings" button.

A dialog box will pop up. Select the following box in the proxy server project: Use the proxy server in your local area network (these settings will not be applied to the dial-up or VPN connection).

Enter "0.0.0.0" in the URL text field.

Enter "80" in the connection bar, then click "OK".

Please note that adding a fake proxy server to your Internet settings will not affect the automatic Windows Update connection and update your operating system's functionality.

You can also limit your Internet settings through the Group Policy.

Please follow the steps below:

On your domain controller, right click on the organizational unit containing the domain user and select " Attribute" (PropertIEs).

On the Group Policy tab, click Edit.

Expand User Configuration to set restrictions for individual users.

Expand Windows Settings and expand Internet Explorer maintenance.

Select "Connection" and then double the Proxy Settings.

Select the "Enable Proxy Settings" box, add "0.0.0.0" to the HTTP field, and then click "OK".

Expand Administrative Templates and then expand Windows Components.

Select Internet Explorer, then click "Disable Changing Proxy Settings" twice.

Select "Enabled" and click "OK".

Remember, "Enabled" sets certain limits, and "Disabled" prevents certain restrictions from being applied to a group of users (even if you open it for a wider group of users). It is also the same), and "Not Configured" does not preset any restrictions.

Before you take any step, download another browser and test it in your current configuration configuration. I highly recommend using Mozilla's Firefox. After installing a new browser, answer "yes" when asked if you want to treat it as a default browser.

The last 叮咛

No matter how many patches Microsoft releases, as long as there is ActiveX and Browser Helper Object - a file loaded with IE - hackers May control your system and steal your data. Microsoft designed IE to perform various functions instead of focusing on security. Even with anti-virus software, you can't defend your network from IE.

called Windows security, not to eliminate security vulnerabilities, but adopted piecemeal measures of risk management, and give users want. All operating systems have weaknesses, but the popularity of usage makes Windows the preferred target for most Black Hats.
