Wonderful use of Windows security mode to solve many problems

People who use computers frequently may know that when a computer fails, Windows will provide a platform called "safe mode", where users can solve a lot of hardware (drivers) and software. Systematic problems in terms of aspects.

What is the security mode?

Safe mode is a special mode in the Windows operating system. In safe mode, users can easily fix some errors in the system and achieve twice the result with half the effort. Safe mode works by starting the computer without loading third-party device drivers, allowing the computer to run in the system's minimum mode, so that users can easily detect and repair computer system errors.

How to enter safe mode?

As long as you start the computer, press the F8 key (or hold down the Ctrl key while starting the computer) before the system enters the Windows splash screen, the operating system multi-mode boot menu will appear, just select " Safe Mode", you can boot your computer into safe mode.

Using Windows "Safe Mode" to solve many system problems

·Delete stubborn files

When we delete some files under Windows or clear the contents of the Recycle Bin, the system sometimes The words "A certain file is in use and cannot be deleted" are displayed, but these files are not in use. Try restarting the computer and entering safe mode at startup. After entering safe mode, Windows automatically releases control of these files and you can delete them.

·"Safe Mode" Restore

If the computer does not start properly, you can use "Safe Mode" or other boot options to start the computer, press F8 when the computer starts, in startup mode Select Safe Mode in the menu, and then perform the system restore as follows:

Click "Start" → "All Programs" → "Accessories" → "System Tools" → "System Restore" to open the System Restore Wizard, then Select the "Restore my computer to an earlier time" option, click the "Next" button, click on the date displayed in bold on the calendar to select the system restore point, click the "Next" button to perform a system restore.

·Checking the virus

The virus is getting more and more every day, and the anti-virus software is updated every day. However, anti-virus under Windows is a bit unreliable because they are very likely to cross-infect. And some anti-virus programs can't run under DOS. At this time, of course, we can also boot the system to safe mode, so that Windows only loads the most basic drivers, so that killing the virus is more thorough and cleaner.

·Unlock Group Policy Locking

In fact, Group Policy restrictions in Windows are implemented by loading the registry-specific key values, which are not loaded in Safe Mode. Press and hold the F8 key after rebooting, in the multi-boot menu window that opens, select "Safe Mode with Command Prompt". After entering the desktop, enter "C:WindowsSystem32XXX.exe (the program you started)" at the command prompt of the startup, start the console, and then remove the restriction according to the above operation. Finally, restart the normal login system to unlock.

Note: Many restrictions on Group Policy can't be effective in Safe Mode. If you encounter a restriction that cannot be lifted, you may want to go to find a solution.

·Repair system failure

If Windows is not stable or does not start properly, don’t worry about installing the system first, try restarting the computer and switching to safe mode. After restarting the computer, has the system been restored? If the system is faulty due to a problem with the registry, this method is very effective, because Windows can automatically fix the registry problem when it starts in safe mode, in safe mode. After booting Windows successfully, it can usually be started in normal mode (Normal).

·Restore System Settings

If the user is installing new software or changing some settings, the system will not start properly, you need to enter safe mode, if it is installed If the new software is caused, please uninstall the software in safe mode. If some settings are changed, such as the display resolution setting is beyond the display range of the display, resulting in a black screen, you can change it back after entering the safe mode. A screen saver with a password is placed in the "Startup" menu. If you forget the password, the computer will not operate properly and you can enter the safe mode change.

·Take out a malicious self-starting program or service

If the computer has some unpredictable mistakes, such as not being able to access the network, you can still find the problem according to the conventional idea. Look at the security mode with a network connection. If you can do it here, it means that some self-starting programs or services affect the normal connection of the network.

·Detecting incompatible hardware

XP uses a digital signature driver mode, and the detection of various hardware is stricter than before, so some devices may not be in normal state. Driver use. For example, some early CABLE MODEM, if you find that XP does not recognize the hardware in normal mode, you can press F8 at boot time, then choose to enter safe mode, detect new hardware in safe mode, it is possible to load CABLE MODEM correctly. Driven.

·Uninstall the incorrect driver

The general driver, if it does not apply to your hardware, can be uninstalled by XP driver restore. But the graphics card and hard drive IDE driver, if installed wrong, it is possible to enter the GUI interface to crash; some motherboards ULTRA DMA patch is also the same, because Windows is to read the memory and disk page files to adjust the computer state at any time, so the hard drive The system crashes as soon as there is a problem. What should I do now?

In some cases, disabling the administrator account may cause maintenance difficulties. For example, in a domain environment, when the secure channel used to establish a connection fails for some reason, if there is no other local administrator account, the computer must be restarted in secure mode to fix the problem that caused the connection state to be interrupted.

If you attempt to re-enable a disabled administrator account and the current administrator password does not meet the password requirements, you will not be able to re-enable it. In this case, the optional member of the administrator group must set the password for the administrator account through the Local Users and Groups user interface.
