Solve system crash when Windows XP opens a folder containing video

Users who use Windows XP may have experienced the symptoms of system suspended animation when opening a folder with video files in the Windows XP operating system. Clicking on any window does not respond. Then you can only press the "Ctrl+Alt+Delete" key combination to bring up the task manager that comes with the operating system, and use it to force the folder window to close to make the system back to normal. To this end, the author is puzzled: Why do you have this system of suspended animation symptoms when you open a folder with video files?

After research, I found out that this is actually a video preview. . As long as the video preview function of the system is turned off, you can successfully solve the system suspended animation after opening the folder with video.

In Windows XP, the preview function of the video file is mainly because the dynamic link file "shmedia.dll" is working. We just need to open the "Start → Run" command and enter "" in the "Run" field. Regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll", and then click the "OK" button, when the "Shll.register DllUnregisterServer succeeded" prompt box, you can successfully disable the video preview function. If you plan to restore the preview function in the future, just type "regsvr32 shmedia.dll".
