XP installed on the Sp2 process to add new Ding

Windows XP's sp2 is coming. Don't look at this guy being fired: one after another, one version after another. But for us it is still very strange, afraid that after installing sp2, the system slows down. You will wonder if there is anything in the Trojan virus. Then click Ctrl+Alt+Del to bring up the task manager. I saw a few unfamiliar processes, and I was about to turn off when I was impulsive. Oh, don't panic. Don't dare to rush to the Dragon King Temple, the family does not recognize the family. Today we will look at what new process has been added after sp2 is installed. First give everyone a vaccination:

First paste a picture of the task manager that is finished with the system

Figure 1

We have finished sp2 Screenshot. This time is not as clean as the picture above. At this time there are already many other programs running

for easy reading. In addition to the newly opened application, I marked the newly added system process with color.

You can see the newly added process:

1. Unfortunately, there are 4 control.exe processes in the taskbar. And each has so much memory! gosh. Control.exe is the control panel program. In order to make certain processes appear in the screenshot. Just turn off the firewall. Then there will be a warning (wscenfy.exe) popping up in the taskbar.

Then click on the prompt. Just entered the security center. The security center belongs to the control panel. That is the reason for the control.exe. There is also a process of running the big rundll32.exe package. There is a winxp, not a new sp2, here to explain. It is estimated that you will encounter such a situation, and because you run it a few times, when you have not had time to quit, hey, cut a picture.

2. In addition to this is alg.exe, wsenfy.exe. Some of their information in the following table:
name
description
path
version

alg.exe
Application Layer Gateway Service

Application Layer Gateway Service ( firewall)
% system32% \\ alg.exe
5.1.2600.2135 (xpsp.040518-1812)

wscenfy.exe
Windows security Center Notification App

security Center wARNING program
% system32% \\ wscenfy.exe
5.4.3790.2135

Wuauclt.exe
automatic Updates

automatic upgrade
% system32%
original Alg.exe is the firewall that Microsoft expects from. Although the function is not very strong, but it can meet the user's most basic requirements, not to mention the screenshots can be seen that it occupies a relatively small amount of resources. Such a small amount of resource usage is something that third-party vendors can't do: the power of bundling is endless. Ha ha.

wscenfy.exe is the notification program for Microsoft's Security Center. Wscenfy.exe will appear when your system security settings are at risk. If you want it to not appear, you have to install anti-virus software or give up monitoring. 2 Turn on automatic updates. 3 Turn on the firewall or choose not to monitor the firewall. Otherwise, this stuff will depend on the taskbar. Figure 3

Above we also added Wuauclt.exe: Wuauclt.exe is an automatic update program for Windows XP. If you don't have an automatic upgrade, you won't have this process, and even if you turn it on, it won't be turned on at all times. The resources occupied by Wuauclt.exe are not too small. The memory usage at runtime is about 6m, but the automatic upgrade is not always open every moment. But if you close this program, hehe. Wscenfy.exe will start, it is 3m memory, huh, huh. I will inform you all the time, pay attention to this matter. I have to speak in memory. I don't know if Microsoft designed this way when there is no way to upgrade, such as education network users, such as the d version of xp (Microsoft: this is in the scope of ^_^)...

It is to show you some new processes that have been added. There is no deeper analysis here. If the system adds any services in svhost, we will not go into it. 2135 is close to the official version, the most intuitive feeling of use is that sp2 can eat 20m of memory, if 128 memory can make winxp trot, then run xinxp+sp2 even on the oxcart. My current 256m feels too much to eat. The current choice is to not remove sp2. Do not add a memory stick ^_^
