A little trick to restore the XP registry

Windows stores its configuration information in a database called the registry, which contains configuration files for each user on the computer, information about the system hardware, installed programs, and Property settings, Windows constantly cites this information as it runs. Win XP provides a new way to restore the registry, which can save you from the long-term pain of reinstalling Windows after system corruption.

A, restart the computer, after seeing the "Select to start the operating system" message, please press the "F8" button.

B. Use the arrow keys to highlight "Last Known Good Configuration" and press Enter. NUM LOCK must be turned off and the arrow keys on the numeric keypad will work.
C. If you have dual boot or multi-boot system, use the arrow keys to highlight the operating system you want to boot, and then press the "Enter" key.

After successfully starting Windows, the registry will be restored to the state it was in when the computer was successfully started last time. Choosing "Last Known Good Configuration" is a way to recover a problem from a problem (such as a newly added driver that does not match the hardware), but it does not solve the problem caused by a damaged or missing driver or file. And Windows only restores the information in the registry top HKLMSystemCurrentControlset, and any changes made in other registry keys remain unchanged.
