Windows XP cannot empty the contents of the Recycle Bin. Every time you open the Recycle Bin, it always searches first, and then displays a dialog box to confirm the deletion of all the contents of the Recycle Bin. In fact, the contents of the Recycle Bin are still not available. Empty, the reason that the recycle bin cannot be emptied is because the recycle bin folder is damaged. You need to regenerate the recycle bin folder as follows:

1, start-run--enter CMD, start to Safe mode with command line.

2. Execute the Attrib-s-r-h command in the Recycled directory of each partition to remove special attributes, and then execute the rd C:\ ecycler /s command to delete the Recycled directory under each partition. (Note that for hard drives with other letters, replace c: for the required hard drive letter.)

3, close the command prompt window.

4. Right-click on an empty area of ​​the desktop and click Refresh.

This will regenerate the files and folders in the recycle bin, and the recycle bin will not be destroyed. Once the recycle bin is emptied again, the contents of the recycle bin can be emptied.
