The system partition has no drive letter. You can still access the file.

The drive letter is the identifier of each partition. Windows uses the drive letter to identify the partition. However, sometimes we have to artificially create a diskless partition: for example, you can remove the partition letter that holds important files to protect the file. However, if the partition does not have a drive letter, we will not be able to access the files directly. Here's a tip for accessing files in a driveless partition. First, the important documents: darkness Chen Cangqiao access Applicable objects: Do not want other accounts or programs to access, but they often need to access the partition Because the partition does not have a drive letter, any account and programs (including viruses) can not access the files. Therefore, we can delete the partition letter of the important file. In Windows XP, partition access can also be accessed through assigned mount points. Suppose the D drive is a dedicated partition for storing your own private documents. You can now delete its drive letter and add a new mount point for you to access. First select an NTFS partition, such as E disk, create a new directory CPCW, and create a subdirectory D under CPCW. Click “Start →Run”Enter“compmgmt.msc”. After starting the disk management, expand “storage/disk management", right-click on the D drive in the right pane and select “change drive letter and path”. Click “Delete” in the window that opens to delete the D drive letter. Return to the “Add Drive Letter or Path” window, click “Add”, select “Add the following blank NTFS folder”, click “Browse” and select E:\\CPCW\\D, The entire D drive is loaded into the directory E:\\CPCW\\D (see Figure 1). This way, if we need to access the files on the D drive. For example, you need to open the d:\\document directory, just expand e:\\cpcw\\d\\mydocumennt. Because the D drive does not have a drive letter, others can't see the files in it, effectively protecting the security of the document. Tip: Because the above method is to load the partition into the NTFS directory, therefore, even if the driveless partition is a FAT32 format partition, by loading, we can also use NTFS permissions to set the access permissions of the FAT32 format partition to better protect the security of the files. . Second, GHO backup: Temporary access Applicable objects: save important files, but do not need to access the partitions of the files frequently. For the partitions that save similar system backup files, we can access the files by loading them to the directory. However, after all, there is a path to access, and the files stored in it are not absolutely safe. The best way of course is to completely cut off the file access path. However, after the access path is completely deleted, the operation of adding/removing a drive letter must be performed each time it accesses itself. Now with showdrive you can temporarily add a drive letter to the driveless partition, which is convenient for us to operate on the driveless partition file. For example, we need to update the virus database files of GHO files saved in the driveless partition from time to time. You can delete the partition drive first. If you need to access the files, just run showdrive, open the resource manager to see the partition, restart the system after editing, the partition drive will disappear automatically, which can effectively protect GHO. file. Third, stubborn virus: DiskGenius forced to delete the applicable object: hiding the stubborn virus or stubborn folder partition is now more and more stubborn virus, many viruses are protected by the monitoring process, once the user is found to delete the virus file, the monitoring process will immediately resurrect the virion, check Killing these viruses has brought us a lot of trouble. Now we can delete the drive letter of the stubborn virus hiding. Because the virus loses the running path, it is much easier to delete it. For partitions without a drive letter, you can use DiskGenius to access and force the removal of virus files. Download DiskGenius, select the partition where the virus is hidden after running the program, right-click and select “delete drive letter (drive letter)”. After the drive letter is deleted, the monitoring process cannot regenerate the virus. In the program window, switch to “ browse file & rdquo;, the partition without the drive letter can still browse the file through DiskGenius, select the virus file right click and select “ force delete & rdquo; (Figure 2). Tip: The drive letter of the partition where the system is located can still be deleted, but the files in it cannot be deleted. Similarly, for some illegal folders, such as the illegal directory containing the characters of the "a..\\" character contained in the directory name, we can also delete the drive letter first and then forcefully delete it in DiskGenius.
