The emergence of the Windows operating system makes the mouse a must-have input device for the computer, making it simple and easy to enter. However, the mouse is not omnipotent. Especially when performing some specific operations, it is more convenient to use shortcut keys. The following are some shortcut keys related to Shift. Reasonable use of these shortcut keys can improve the efficiency of work.

The following tips are applicable to Win9x/ME/2000 without special instructions.

Select multiple files, folders:

To select multiple files, first select the first file, then hold down Shift to select the last file, so the file between the two files All will be selected, you can also use the Shift and arrow keys to select. This shortcut is applicable in both the Explorer and the dialog box, and is also suitable for folder selection.

Delete files and folders completely:

When deleting files and folders, press Shift+Del to confirm the carriage return. You can delete files directly instead of putting them in the recycle bin. .

Close all folder windows:

If you open the folder, select Open different folders in different windows. Holding down the Shift key and clicking the Close button will close the folder window and all of its parent folder windows. Hold down the Shift key while opening a file to open the file in a new window.

Skip the startup program:

Hold down the Shift key while Win98 is started until the startup is complete, you can cancel the automatic startup program function, and skip the hardware detection to achieve a quick start.

Remove CD auto play:

Hold down the Shift key while inserting a CD disc to remove its auto play function.

Quick restart:

When you close Win98, hold down the Shift key and select “restart the computer”, the computer will restart Win98 without performing a warm boot. This shortcut is useful when you need to restart your system after changing settings, reducing the wait time for startup.

Forced Move:

For some files or folders that cannot be moved due to attributes, you can hold down the Shift key while moving to achieve a forced move.

Switch full/half angle status:

Press Shift+Spacebar.

Switch the sticky key switch:

Press the Shift key 5 times.

Quickly paste objects:

You can paste content from the clipboard, either in the edit box or in a standard Windows application, by pressing the Shift+Insert key.

Change the association of a file:

When you encounter a file that you don't want to open with its default program, hold down Shift, click the right mouse button, select “Open with ” Select the open program from the window that comes down.

Open the context menu:

Hold Shift+F10 to open the context menu of the selected item.

Create a shortcut:

Hold down CTRL+SHIFT to drag the file.
