The official version of IE 7 personalized set skills two

This morning, Microsoft released its latest web browser, Internet Explorer 7 official version, I was fortunate enough to get this version in the first time. But during the trial, we found that the default settings of IE 7 are not satisfactory. Therefore, the author deliberately come up with two IE 7 personalized settings tips to share with you.
Tips one: Let Baidu settle in IE 7
Unlike previous versions of IE, this release of IE 7 does not set Microsoft's own Live Search as the default search engine, but directly pops up a Customize the page, let the user choose the favorite search engine, as shown in Figure 1.

Obviously, this approach is more popular with users. But the problem is that for our domestic users, some of the third-party search engines provided by IE 7 will still make people feel a little eye-catching. The "Baidu" and "Zhongsou" that Chinese people prefer are not included. In fact, this problem is really not a problem in IE 7, because we can add any third-party search engine to IE 7, the specific method is as follows:
1. Will set the search engine in the home page The parameters are first modified to "Let me select from a list of other search providers", and then click the "Save setting" button at the bottom of the page to enter the detailed settings page.
2. Paste the "Baidu" search code "http://www.baidu.com/baidu?word=TEST&tn=maxthon2&ie=utf-8" into the IE 7 Custom Search Engine Step 3 Location, and then add the name of the search engine to the location of step 4, as shown in Figure 2.

3. At this point, click the "Install" button to successfully complete the addition of the "Baidu" search engine. At this time, in the search engine list of IE 7, we have been able to see the newly added "Baidu" engine, as shown in Figure 3.

[Small Tips] In this step, the author did not follow the prompts of IE 7, by searching for the keyword "TEST" in the Baidu main page. To get the search code. The main reason is that Baidu does not use UTF-8 for encoding when it searches by default. The final result of this will cause garbled characters when we search Chinese vocabulary, which will cause the entire search to fail. So in this case, the author directly pastes the utf-8 format search code into IE 7 to prevent such errors.
Tips 2: Let multi-tab browsing "re-emerge" [br> We all know that the biggest difference between IE 7 and the old version of IE is that it can support multi-tab browsing of web pages. However, a lot of friends who used to use FireFox and Maxthon after trying out IE 7 will feel a little uncomfortable. Because, whether you click on the page or directly into the address bar to type the URL, IE 7's multi-tab feature will not automatically start, instead it is a pop-up window like IE 6. So, is this new multi-tab browsing feature not going to be ruined? In fact, after a simple setup, we can make IE 7's multi-tab browsing function "reproduce the power".

  • 1. In the main interface of IE 7, click the “Tools” button → “Internet Options” command to enter the IE settings window.
  • 2. Click the “Tabs” → “Settings” button to enter the multi-label function setting window.
  • 3. Reset the "When a pop-up is encountered" and "Open links from other programs in" according to the position indicated in the figure below, and finally click the "OK" button to restart IE 7, as shown in Figure 4. Shown.
