Resolve VMware vSphere minimum memory 2G limit

VMware vSphere has higher hardware requirements, but for test systems, we want the lower the configuration requirements, the better the CPU requirements are, the 64-bit system must be installed, and the VT technology must be supported by the installation client. In order to install 64-bit, these are nothing to discuss.

But the minimum 2G memory of VMware vSphere seems to be high. If the system does not meet this requirement, the system cannot be started. For the test environment, only one or two clients may be installed per esx server. It is not necessary to get so much memory, so we can manually boot VMware vSphere by lowering the configuration of VMware vSphere to achieve less than 2G of memory.

As shown in the following figure, when the memory is less than 2G, VMware vSphere automatically starts the interrupt.

Modify the following way: Start the VMware vSphere under

2G memory is available to meet the press Alt + F1 to enter maintenance mode

Enter the command "vi /etc/vmware/init/init.d/vi 00.vmnix"Modify VMware vSphere Configuration

Find “RequiredMemory=2064384” This line configures 2064384 to modify your desired memory Size, save the configuration.

shut down the system, modify the value lower than 2G of memory, restart the VMware vSphere can start properly.
