How to set screen saver password security before

if we do not want to let others move our computer, the best way is fitted with a power-on password program to limit the intrusion of some uninvited guests, but if you do not have this type of software you are too lazy or do not want to go . No problem! You can use the screen saver under Windows, because the screen saver can set the password under Windows. We use this feature to set the power-on password with screen saver.
1. First on the desktop right-click on the pop-up menu, select & ldquo; Properties & rdquo ;, appear & ldquo; Display Properties & rdquo; window, select & ldquo; screen saver & rdquo; page, choose your favorite Screen Saver ( Here choose Aquarium Screensaver), wait for the time to fill in, check the box in front of “Password Protection”, and then click “Settings” to fill in your password. This password is the power-on password.
2. Click “Start”→“Find”, (or directly press “Win+F” key combination) in the name input box in the pop-up search window to enter the screen saver name you just selected. Enter Aquarium.scr and look for the C drive. Click the "Find" button after you have finished. Drag and drop the found screen saver to “start”→“program”→“start”, that is, run this over-screened screen saver every time you boot.
Although this screen saver can restrict the entry of illegal users, if the illegal user encountered is an old bird, he may put the screen saver in the startup item by entering the "safe mode" mode. Delete, so the screen saver password will be cracked.
The author will implement another plan to prevent illegal users from entering the "safe mode", that is, illegal users cannot activate the Windows boot menu at boot time.
3. Click “Start”→“Find”, find the “Msdos.sys” file, open it with Notepad, and add the following lines to the [option] section of the file. :
& ldquo; BootMulti = 0 & rdquo; represents setting system can not boot menu;
& ldquo; BootGUI = 1 & rdquo; indicates start directly into Windows 98 graphical user interface;
& ldquo; BootDelay = 0 & rdquo; represents when you start & ldquo; Staring Windows 98 ... & rdquo; information dwell time is 0 seconds;
& ldquo; BootKey = 0 & rdquo; express settings during startup F4, F5, F6, F8 function key is invalid.

The above statements should pay attention to capitalization, otherwise the effect can not be achieved. It is also best to back up Msdos.sys and cover it later if you want to restore it.
With this modification, the Windows boot menu cannot be activated at boot time. This makes the power-on password more "sturdy".
