1. Add your own search engine to IE

There are many built-in search providers in the search bar in the upper right corner of IE7 for you to choose from. Click on the drop-down arrow to the right of the search bar to easily add more search engines, select “ find more providers & rdquo; then add them on the page that appears.

But you can't be limited to using these search engines provided by Microsoft. You can build your own search engine and use the IE search bar to search for any website, no matter where you are on the internet.

Note that this site is not necessarily the search engine itself; any website with search capabilities is fine. For example, if you frequently find content for sports, shopping, or travel sites, you can create a search engine for those sites and add them to the search bar in IE7.

First, click the drop-down arrow to the right of the search bar and select “Find more providers”. In the page that appears, you can see “create your own”.

In another tab, open the search engine you want to create in IE. For example, open software.it16 8.com.

In the search box of the site, type “TEST”, make sure you are using uppercase letters. After the search, copy the resulting URL from the address bar and paste it into the tab that created your own ”.

In our case, the URL is: http://publish.it16 8.com/showart…22&keyword=TEST

Next, create your own " In , enter the name of a search engine. In our example, we named it "IT168".

Click the “Install" button to install the new search engine into IE. You will see a prompt to confirm if you want to install. Click “Add Provider”.

Now, your newly added search engine is ready to use. Click on the arrow to the right of the search bar and you will see the options you have added to the list, as shown in Figure 2. Now you can use it like any other search engine. Previous1234Next page Total 4 pages
