Find mobile hard drives that Windows 2003 can't recognize

Computer Shop News: I always like to try new software. No, Windows Server 2003 just came out, I can't wait to install it. However, when the author connected to IBM's mobile hard disk, although the icon of the mobile hard disk appeared at the bottom right of the taskbar, the information display is normal, but in the "My Computer", the drive letter of the drive is not displayed. Borrowed a friend's "Newman" mobile hard drive is also not recognized. Try to reinstall the driver of the mobile hard disk (originally there is no need to install), the system prompts that the driver has been installed. The strange thing is that the computer can easily recognize the flash memory of the author.
The author later read an article about group strategy. This article talks about using the "group strategy" method to hide the drive. I think that since "group policy" can hide the drive letter of the drive, So can you display the drive letter that is not displayed? With this question, the author opened the group policy, the operation steps are: click "Start → Run", enter "“MMC", enter, enter “Console 1”, then click “ File & Rarr; Add Delete Management Unit & Rarr; Add & rdquo;, appeared the "Add Standalone Management Unit" interface, in which to find out, and found "Disk Management" ; one, then click “ add → complete → close → determine & rdquo;, this time back to “ console 1 & rdquo;, click & ldquo; disk management & rdquo;, then see the right column shows All hard drives, including mobile hard drives, do not show the drive letter of the removable hard drive.
The crux of the problem should be here. I right-click on the name of the mobile hard disk, select "Change drive letter and path" in the pop-up menu, find that the drive does not have a drive letter assigned, then click "Add", then select “ Assign the following drive letter & rdquo ;, select a suitable English letter in the drop-down combo box on the right to make the drive letter, click OK. Immediately after scanning the mobile hard disk, the drive letter of the mobile hard disk finally appeared. In order to prove that it is not accidental, I also inserted a mobile hard disk on another computer that has just been installed with Windows Server 2003, and I did not recognize it. The author set up according to the method mentioned above, and the mobile hard disk is revealed.
Experience: It is best to insert the flash and mobile hard disk at the same time and then select the drive letter. Otherwise, if you only insert the mobile hard disk and select the English letter immediately after the CD-ROM drive, then the next time you plug in the flash memory, it is possible that the flash memory will replace the drive number that was last set as the mobile hard disk, and then insert the mobile hard disk. May not recognize it again.
