Microsoft: Win10 will receive 2-3 functional updates every year.

Computer store news: Microsoft has turned Windows into a service to popular users. The media generally believes that Win10 will be Microsoft's last generation of Windows. The result is that Microsoft will add new features to Windows 10 at a faster rate.

Microsoft has revealed that Windows 10 will receive two or three functional updates per year on average, and service updates (ie bug fixes and security patch updates) will be pushed to Win10 devices faster and more timely.

We already know that Microsoft's "Patch Tuesday" will still exist for a long time. Even if Microsoft adopts a new strategy for Windows 10 regular updates, they will still be able to push security updates on time on the second Tuesday of each month.

But what's even more interesting is the functional update that Microsoft just announced. In today's TechNet blog, Microsoft says:

Functional updates bring the latest features and experiences to devices running Windows 10. Because the functional update includes an entire copy of Windows, it is equivalent to the latest version of Windows 10 and can be overwritten on devices running Windows 7/8.1 or new devices without an operating system installed.

Microsoft also added that these updates will continue, which also shows that Microsoft will continue to focus on improving their core operating systems in the coming months.

Windows 10 is expected to receive a major update in October or November, and a major update to the codename "Redstone" will come next year. “Redstone” is likely to be divided into two waves. The first wave is in the spring and the second wave is in the fall. Both waves of updates will bring significant improvements to Windows 10 and bring new experiences to users. In addition to important application updates and several new features, Redstone updates will bring significant improvements to Win10, and specific updates are not yet disclosed.
