Win8, privacy becomes a problem

Computer shop news Microsoft Win8 consumer preview version released about 100 days, there are reports that Windows8 CP version has hidden dangers of privacy, making users fear.

Infoworld pointed out in a report on Monday that when Win8 computers connect to social networking services such as Facebook and Twitter, they will keep the contact's cache information on the machine. These caches are still retained when the user logs out or shuts down.

In theory, this means that anyone who logs in to your Win8 computer can view your contact list, even though they need administrator privileges to do just that. However, a report from ITWorld has played down the issue.

Michael Cherry, an analyst lead from Directions on Microsoft (an independent third-party company that has no direct contact with Microsoft), said “ In other words, Microsoft will take steps to fix any problems that may arise, but it involves privacy issues, solutions or simply telling users that their information has been shared through the service. & rdquo;

Mark Baldwin, a principal researcher at InfosecStuff, believes that Win8 needs to cache similar data in order to improve system performance. He added that after all, viewing these data from others still requires administrator privileges.

Cherry also pointed out that Microsoft is best to let users know in advance that their contact information will be shared. He believes that on many websites, users need to browse many pages and documents. As part of the fix, let the user really know where the problem lies.
