Linux Mint Debian (201009) Release

The Linux Mint project team released a new project yesterday, Linux Mint Debian (201009). Linux Mint Debian (201009) is the first branch of Linux Mint based on Debian (LMDE) and is 100% compatible with Debian. The current release is a 32-bit version and will be available soon. Linux Mint Debian (201009) uses the Gnome desktop system.

The official claims that this system is a system that never has to be reinstalled. This release based on Debian is faster and reduces reliance on upstream kernel components. This release uses a new installation system. There are still a lot of deficiencies in this version, but Linux Mint is confident to continuously improve and enhance it.
Linux Mint has been preparing for a distribution based on a distribution other than Ubunut three years ago, and has not made much progress due to funding issues. Now they think the time is ripe and another release must be made to meet the needs of more people.
