Windows Vista optimizes 512M memory work clearance

Here is a report from a Vista tester we translated:

Throughout the Windows Vista beta program, I was using my main desktop computer with Pentium 4 2.66GHz and 1.50GB of memory, and There is a lot of disk space, but I decided to test Windows Vista Ultimate on a different machine. It only has 2.4G Celeron D and 512M memory. I was surprised.

Formatting, installation, everything is so regular (version is 5472, the latest version of the tester currently available), installed and logged into the desktop for a total of 30 minutes, looks not so bad.

Opening the program is the first thing that surprised me. Internet Explorer, Windows Live Messenger, 2007 Office System Beta 2, and even Adobe Photoshop CS2 are very fast.

But when you open multiple programs, the 512M memory machine is a bit down (playing WMP, chatting with WLM, opening a part of the window to browse the web), the memory footprint is increased, but still can make people I feel "quite well", and when the Windows search service still gives results quickly, I am really surprised.

Task Manager shows, boot to the desktop and start using Windows Sidebar will fall 74% of physical memory to run some programs such as Windows Mail, when even lower occupancy when? !

Overall, the performance improvements in Windows Vista is very obvious, Vista performance on the 512M memory does give me themselves.
