Creating a Screen Saver Icon on the Desktop

As we all know, the screen saver has a password-protected feature. With this feature, we only need to set the appropriate password for the screen saver. After that, when we leave the computer, the screen saver will Automatic activation, the corresponding password protection will take effect, thus playing a role in security protection. However, this is another problem, that is, the minimum time for Windows 98 to start screen saver is 1 minute, which means that only when the user does not operate the computer for 1 minute, the screen saver (that is, password protection) will work! In order to prevent someone from leaving the computer and the screen saver has not yet started the gap between the "invasion" of their own computer, many users are not operating the computer and wait for more than 1 minute, waiting for the computer to enter the screen saver state After dare to leave, it seems too much trouble. In fact, as long as the following method is used, we can achieve the purpose of starting the screen saver function in time.

1) Set the screen saver function of the system in the usual way, select the desired screen saver and set the appropriate screen saver password.

2) Start the Explorer and open the SYSTEM subdirectory of the Windows 98 installation directory.

3) Find the appropriate screen saver (*.SCR file) in this directory.

4) Right-click the screen saver and execute the "Desktop Shortcut" command from the pop-up shortcut menu "Send" submenu to set the shortcut for the corresponding screen saver on the desktop. the way.

So we have the purpose of creating a shortcut for the screen saver on the desktop. After that, when we need to leave the computer, just double-click the shortcut and the system will quickly activate the corresponding screen saver (again There is no need to wait.) Then we can get the password protection that we have, and achieve the goal of protecting the security of the system.
