What resources are available for Temporary Internet Files

Everyone is disgusted with the temporary files of the system. Sometimes they will be deleted manually to get more space, but what you don't know is actually a little bit in the seemingly useless temporary folder. Resources to use, let us introduce you today.

1. What is the Temporary Internet Files folder?

Temporary Internet Files—— Internet temporary folder, which is used to store temporary files when we go online. When we go online, it is essentially the browser to download all the information contained in the page you want to browse from the server, such as text information, pictures, music, video, cookies and other file resources on the page we browse, browser Calling these files is displayed in front of us. The files inside will take up a certain amount of hard disk space, which makes it easy for us to browse offline —— for example, the page we see when browsing offline is called from this folder. If there are no files in this folder, it means that the files we get online are emptied, we can't browse offline, we have to go online again. For your convenience, we will call it the “TIF folder” in the introduction below.

When we download the file, if we choose the "Open" method, we will actually download the file to the TIF system and then call the file. We can find it in the short term. You may have such an experience. After you download a file by "open", you want to save the file again. At this time, you only need to download it once & ldquo;噔” The inside story is that the system simply copies the file saved in it to the new path you specified.

In general, the TIF folder is located in C:/Documents and Settings/username/Local Settings/Temporary Internet Files. The default is read-only. We can't change the files inside (such as file name, File properties) or add other files into it, but can be deleted; the system default settings are hidden, we have to set the display hidden files to see it, but even if we set it to a non-hidden folder, restart the computer The system will restore it to a hidden state by itself.

2. About the Temporary Internet Files folder settings

Open the IE Tools menu, "Internet Options" (left), and then click to enter "Internet Temporary Files" & rdquo; The setting button in the column, pop-up window, we can set the TIF folder:

1) Adjust the size of the TIF footprint: as shown in the figure, change the value of the disk space used. In this way, when the disk space occupied by your temporary files reaches this value, the system will automatically delete the earlier records, so that the current file has the "place of the land". The value should not be set too small, too small, the stored file may be replaced soon, then you may not see the offline view when you want to view the history offline; but it is not necessary, depending on the size of your personal hard disk space. And set. However, today's broadband is popular, and most don't care about the issue of going online and offline, and it is not necessary to browse offline.

2) Move the TIF folder location: Move the folder to another location, so that the system will not automatically hide it, and it is convenient for us to open this folder quickly if necessary ——click“move Folder & rdquo; button, select the location of the target folder you want to move to, so the system will automatically generate a subfolder with the same name in the target location; if you suspect the name of Temporary Internet Files is too long, you can modify The key value of the registry under the HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/User Shell Folders branch is changed to the address of the target folder, so that the files in the TIF can be completely adjusted. Go to the destination and do not generate “Temporary Internet Files”.

3) View the file: Click the “View File” button to view the file directly without displaying the hidden folder. In the upper left picture, “Delete Cookies” and “Delete Files” can manually delete the records in the folder.

4) View the object by opening the C:/WINDOWS/Downloaded Program Files folder to see what plugins are installed, such as the flash plugin.
