Some time ago, many netizens said that when upgrading from Windows XP SP2 to SP3 version, the installation may fail due to "insufficient disk space". Combined with the experience of others, the author believes that the method described in this article can be effectively solved.

Tips: 1. This issue only affects Windows XP Home or Professional installed with Apple BootCamp;

2. New installation of Windows XP SP3 should not be affected.

The specific solution is as follows:

Enter "regedit" in "Start" → "Run", and then click "OK" button to open the Registry Editor.

Locate the key value HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Setup, select "New" → "String Value" in the "Edit" menu, and set the value name to "BootDir". Then click the "OK" button.

Right click on the mouse and double-click on the newly created "BootDir" to edit the string. In the "Edit String" dialog box that pops up, enter the drive letter of your system, usually the C drive (C:\\). After typing, click the "OK" button and save, then close the registry.
