Nine tips for making Windows system faster and more stable (1)

Make Windows system faster and more stable. Nine tips for more Windows system optimization. See the operating system optimization area. It can be said that almost all computers have been implemented. Automatic, manual optimization, many individual users also installed software that runs some optimized hardware. In many media, such optimization articles have also been published, and the author has also published some. However, some of my friends and netizens are no longer interested in system optimization - most of them are about the same before optimization and after optimization, and have no effect on the improvement of speed and stability! Is this really true? With the author's feeling In terms of the answer, the answer is yes... However, in the past few months, after a deeper study and study of the working principle of hardware and operating system, I have found that many important links in optimization have been Neglected. After repeated practice comparisons, it is found that these links play a decisive role in the optimization effect! In summary, there are basically nine links, and the author will come one by one. First, the reasonable use of the hard disk What is the reasonable use of the hard disk? First we need to understand the physical structure of the hard disk. A partitioned and formatted hard disk is based on a sector, and a partition is composed of a number of sectors. So what is a sector? We all know that the disk is rotating at work. The information it stores is recorded on its surface in a series of concentric circles. Each concentric circle is called a track. In Figure 1, we can See the distribution of tracks and sectors (of course, this is just a schematic diagram, the physical object is much denser than the picture!), many friends think that the red "big head" is a sector, but the correct understanding should be yellow That small block is a sector. A sector has a size of 512 bytes, a whole ring is a track, and there are several sectors on a track, so it is easy to see that the larger the sector on the outer track, the larger the volume. The words are the lower the density, because the hard disk is mechanical transmission, so the speed of the search, read and write speed of the magnetic head is faster, the distribution of the partition is also from the outer ring to the inner ring, so the C disk is relative to the D disk. Outside, this is why we feel that the C drive is faster than the D, E and other partitions. Understand the above knowledge, we can use the hard disk reasonably! Take a new hard disk with a capacity of 60GB as an example: divide the C drive into 3 to 5GB (depending on the operating system), and adjust the D drive to 1GB. Set the E drive to 10GB, save it when you save it (you can split it into F and G drives) - it has no effect on system speed. How to use after the good zone is the most important: 1. Install the operating system on the C drive and install the common small software such as MwIE, FoxMail, ICQ, QQ, FlashGet, Super Rabbit, player software and some viewing software. On the C drive. If you use Microsoft's large software such as Office, you should also install it on the C drive. Of course, since we don't use all of the features, we have to customize the useful parts to save the C drive space! Then set the virtual memory to the D drive (just temporary ^_^) and then use the system itself. The disk defragmenter with the defragmentation of the C drive. 2. Use the system modification software such as “Wei Xiao Registry Optimization Master” to set the folder of “My Documents”, “Internet Buffer”, “Internet History”, “Favorites”, etc., which are often written and deleted. Go to the D drive to try to avoid disk fragmentation in other partitions and reduce the performance of the hard disk! 3. Install various application software to the E disk. As for the game, it can be installed on the F disk. The G disk is used to store audio and video files. 4. Perform another defragmentation on the C drive, and then set the virtual memory to the C drive after the second big step. Second, the virtual memory setting to set the virtual memory to a fixed value is already a common "truth" And, this is quite correct, but most people set it to the non-system partition outside the C drive, and its value is 2 to 3 times the physical memory. Most people think that the larger the value, the better the performance of the system and the faster it runs! But this is not the case, because the system relies on virtual memory - if the virtual memory is large, the system will have a lot of free space in the physical memory. I started using virtual memory, but those that I can't use are still stuck in physical memory, which will inevitably lead to a decline in memory performance! So I started from 32MB of memory to 512MB of memory, and found the above. The fact is very correct, virtual memory should be set to physical memory 0 to 1.5 times (how much is 0? Is it disabled! ^_^) as well, and the larger the physical memory, the smaller the multiple should be, not the bigger . When the physical memory is equal to or greater than 512MB, most PCs can disable virtual memory. At this time, the memory performance is the highest! ^_^ As for how much your virtual memory should be set, you should try it yourself. Because this is directly related to the number and size of resident memory software and the software you run normally, I can't give suggested values. You can set it to be the same as the physical memory before running several large software. If there is no abnormality, you can set it to half of the physical memory before running the large software. If an exception occurs. You have to increase the value of virtual memory appropriately! And so on, when you find the best value, just set this value to the C drive and it will be OK! :) Note: If you are using Windows ME and below The operating system, you can download "MagnaRAM 97" to optimize physical memory and virtual memory, this effect is better! In addition, I suggest you not to use the so-called optimization and finishing software software! Third, a reasonable placement Shortcuts In most cases, we run software that is usually the "shortcut" of the software. The hard disk is getting bigger and bigger, the installed software is more and more, and many friends like to put shortcuts. Put it on the desktop, which will not only dazzle you, but also reduce system performance, and it will cause the system resources to be too large and the system becomes unstable, so I It's best to keep the shortcuts on the desktop at around 10. Other shortcuts can be placed in the Start menu and Quick Launch bar, and all software "uninstall" shortcuts are removed to improve system performance. Also, try not to have duplicate shortcuts. Fourth, use "safety" software with caution. The security software mentioned here refers to real-time anti-virus software and firewall. This kind of software is very large for system resources and CPU resources (somes are more than 30%). If you don't often go to the website, this kind of software is completely unnecessary! This is more practical than overclocking the CPU. It's much more convenient! :) V. Reducing unnecessary random startup procedures This is a common problem, but many friends don't know what programs can be banned, and what can't be banned, so many people have not done this step. work. With the optimization master, this work is much simpler. In the “boot speed optimization” of the interface of Figure 2, the optimization master will prompt you what can be banned, what can't be banned! The advantage of this can not only speed up the startup speed, but also Improve the stability of the system in operation! VI. Reasonable setting of "icon cache" Usually the default icon cache of the system is relatively large, which obviously has a wasteful feeling, so we have to make the appropriate adjustment of its value, we can use " Windows Optimizer" to see how many icon caches the system has used, and then we set its value to about 2 times the actual size. Note: Some computers may not be able to be modified by the optimization master. In this case, you can use the “Super Rabbit Magic Settings” to modify it! In addition, the desktop background should not be made too complicated (recommended to be “None”), some friends still do It became an animated desktop. This kind of practice has no practical significance. It has no good effect except the system will bring unstable factors. After all, we only have a small amount of time to face the desktop! ^_^ VII. Reasonable setting The "disk cache" system default value is usually very conservative, so we have to make some modifications, we can also modify it in the "Windows Optimizer", but we have to manually enter the number, the disk cache minimum can be set It is 2048 (KB), the maximum value is set to 25% of physical memory, and the buffer read/write unit is 512. Note: This practice will bring great benefits to the stable operation of multimedia software, especially the minimum setting should not be too low! 8. Try to streamline the right-click menu. Many programs will leave a shadow in the right-click menu after installation. There are many that we don't use, but it puts a burden on our system. To do this, we can streamline the right-click menu in software such as Super Rabbit Magic Settings, usually just keep the usual ones! In addition, you'd better delete the useless items instead of just removing the small tick in front of them! This can effectively reduce the loss of response caused by the "new" menu! Nine, the appropriate display refresh rate and resolution Some friends always complain that their graphics card is too bad, and some graphics cards are indeed poor, but In many cases, the "illusion" caused by the display refresh rate

is too high. Usually 15, 15 inches of color display will set the refresh rate to 75Hz or more (if the bandwidth is enough, of course, it can be higher), there is no need to force too high. The resolution is also the same. It is usually set to 800×600 or 1024×768. As long as it is enough, there is absolutely no need to play “ultimate” and “ash”. In this case, the speedup effect is much higher than that of the graphics card. In conclusion, when you use the method of this article, you will find that the system is much faster than before! It is also much more stable! ^_^ In addition to this article In addition to the content, there is no harm in making the system simple after a certain optimization. It’s useless! Please try it out, you will know what to say! GOOD LUCK! Nine tips for making Windows system faster and more stable
