I. Drawing Operations

Selecting a command from the drop-down menu and clicking the corresponding button in the toolbar will achieve the same purpose. After selecting a menu command or clicking the tool button, The corresponding command will appear on the command line. Of course, you can also use the keyboard to enter commands as you would in the DOS version.

Another way to enter commands is to use hotkeys, which are special keys that open and activate menu options. After the menu bar and menu command, there is an underlined letter. Press the “Alt”” button and then press the letter after the menu item to open the corresponding menu. Then, press the letter after the command to execute the corresponding command. In addition, many commands have abbreviations, and entering one or two letters represents the full command name. After familiar with AutoCAD, you will find these shortcuts useful. The abbreviated files of the commands are placed in the SUPPORT folder under the AutoCAD 2004 installation directory. The file name is “acad.pgp”, you can find the abbreviation of the command here. .

In the drawing window, the AutoCAD cursor is usually a "ten" word line, and when the cursor moves out of the drawing area, it becomes an arrow. Regardless of whether the mouse is in the form of "10" or "arrow", when a mouse operation is performed, the corresponding command or action is executed.

When drawing with AutoCAD, sometimes you enter the wrong command or option to cancel the currently executing command. In AutoCAD, you can use the “ESC” key to cancel the current command. Sometimes you need to repeat an AutoCAD command to complete a design task. Press the Enter key, the space bar, or right-click in the drawing area, and select the “Repeat ××” command in the shortcut menu. AutoCAD will repeat the last command you used, as shown in the figure. 1 is shown.

The command line window is a window that can be docked or floated. AutoCAD displays the commands and options you enter here and gives you a message. By default, only the previous two lines of command prompts are displayed in the command line window, and a few lines of text can be displayed by dragging the border of the window up. The command line window displays the command status and command history of the graphic you are currently editing. If you have multiple graphics open, the state history displayed by the command line window will also switch accordingly when you switch between graphics.
