IE browser commonly used parameters revealed

As we all know, the main program of IE browser is Iexplore.exe, and like many software, we can also use the parameters of the file, sometimes there will be unexpected effects.

First, we talk about how to add parameters of the main program Iexplore.exe IE. Open "My Computer" and find the IE installation directory, assuming your IE is installed under C:\\Program Files\\Internet Explorer. Go to the folder, find the Iexplore.exe file, right click on it, select "Send to" "Desktop Shortcut" in the pop-up shortcut menu, so that a shortcut to the Iexplore.exe file is created on the desktop. . Right-click on the shortcut and select "Properties". The "Iexplore.exe Properties" dialog box will pop up, select the "Shortcuts" tab, and then fill in the path of the Iexplore.exe file in the "Target" box and File names and parameters will give us unexpected results.

open the Favorites window

Favorites folder on your desktop for regular Internet users, it is very practical. It can save a good web address, and when you visit it again, you can query the web page without entering a web address. However, every time you click on the "Favorites" menu, it is a bit of a hassle. If you can display a window on the desktop, the content inside is a favorite, it is more convenient. Right click on Iexplore.exe on the desktop, select "Properties" "Shortcut", and fill in the target field: "C:\\Program Files\\Internet Explorer\\IEXPLORE.EXE" -channelband, note that the parameter "-channelband" There is a space in front of it. The input is completed as shown in Figure 1. Clicking on this shortcut will bring up a small window with a close button and a white background on the desktop (see Figure 2). In fact, it is the "channel bar", but the content inside is replaced by our favorites. If you don't want it to be displayed every time, remove "-channelband".

Prevent IE homepage address from being modified

Modifying IE default homepage address is a common trick for malicious webpages. After IE is modified, it will automatically connect to the address of malicious webpage. The common method is to modify the registry. In fact, as long as you simply add a parameter to IE, you are no longer afraid that the IE homepage address will be modified. In the same way as above, in the "Target" box of the Iexplore.exe shortcut, fill in: "C:\\Program Files\\Internet Explorer\\IEXPLORE.EXE" -nohome, and add the parameter "-nohome" to Iexplore.exe. Click "OK" to exit.

home page is modified so that even if it does not matter, open IE is a blank, the extra load in IE Tools button in the toolbar, such as network ants, FlashGet and so gone, even the about: blank also Not displayed (Figure 3). Another advantage of doing this is that it speeds up startup.

let IE toolbars and menu bars hidden

we can create a shortcut on the desktop IE, while others a click, there will be a no toolbars and menus The full-screen IE window of the bar is very fun, and you can skillfully use the keyboard to operate. Same as the previous method, just fill in the "Target" box: "C:\\Program Files\\Internet Explorer\\IEXPLORE.EXE" -k, click the "OK" button to exit and create an IE desktop shortcut. Clicking on this shortcut will bring up a full screen IE mode that does not include the toolbar and status bar. Since the menus are gone, you must use some combination keys to control this IE window. The following are the commonly used key combinations for your reference:

Alt+Left Arrow: Previous Page Alt+Right Arrow: Next Page< BR>
Ctrl+B: Open Organize Favorites Ctrl+D: Add to My Favorites

Ctrl+I: Show or hide Favorites Ctrl+H: Open History Folder

Ctrl+E: Search Ctrl+N: Open a new window

Ctrl+L: Use to enter the URL Ctrl+O: It can also be used to enter the URL

Ctrl+R: Refresh, Equivalent to pressing F5 Ctrl+W: Close the current window, which is equivalent to pressing ALT+F4 to make IE intimately contact with the resource manager

Click "View" "Browser Bar" "Folder" in IE, The contents of the resource manager can be displayed in the left window of the IE browser. If you want to open IE, display the "folder" in the browser, you can add the "-e" parameter to the Iexplore.exe file, and click on this newly created shortcut to use IE to get in touch with the resource manager. (Figure 4).

Ikunori above techniques can also be used to achieve this: Click the "Start" menu "Run", type in the open "Run" dialog box: iexplore space - parameters Run, the effect is the same as the method described above. For example, in the above technique 2, you can enter: iexplore -nohome in the "Run" dialog box, and the carriage return can achieve the same effect. It's just that this method is not more convenient without the use of shortcuts.

Finally, explain why we do not use the shortcut created automatically when you install IE, because it is a shortcut we created is different, IE automatically create shortcuts can not add parameters. If you don't believe it, you can right click on the shortcut created by the original IE on the desktop and select "Properties" to try - this is the biggest difference between them, and the key to this article.
