Ghost's two alternative uses

1, using Ghost to defragment the disk
Remember that the first time I used Windows's own defragmentation software to organize a 4GB partition, the hard disk worked for more than 7 hours Since then, I have never used it to defragment. In fact, Ghost can also be used to organize the hard disk. As you know, when Ghost is used as the disk image, Ghost will completely read out every data in the hard disk partition and write it into a GHO file for the blank part of the partition. The software will automatically skip. Then when we restore the GHO image file, the software will continuously write all the contents of the file to the partition, so all the data is automatically written in the header of the partition, we get the complete unused space, the original The fragment file will naturally disappear.

The specific method of defragmenting with Ghost is: first scan and repair all the error codes on the partition with Scandisk, and then use Ghost to make a GHO image file for the partition to be sorted. The size of the file depends on the partition usage. Then, and then restore the GHO file to the original partition, these operations are best run in pure DOS mode, you must choose the right partition when restoring the image, otherwise it will cause data loss. According to my experience, using this method to organize a 4GB hard drive takes about 30 minutes, which is a little longer than the time taken by Vopt2000, but the effect is much better, but using Ghost software is dangerous. I suggest you caution while using.

2, use Ghost backup software

First copy all the software into a separate partition, and then use Ghost to make this partition into a GHO image file, of course, before doing these work Make sure the system is non-toxic. Then we can delete the software in the original partition. Because all the software has been made into a GHO image, at present, few viruses can infect GHO files, which ensures that the software in the GHO file is safe, but if we want to install one of the files backed up, How to operate? It is no longer possible to restore the entire GHO file before installing it. This kind of operation is quite inconvenient.

Here we need another software to help, that is, "Ghost Explorer", which is the Ghost image file manager, which can easily extract any files or directories from GHO files, if we need to install one Software, you only need to extract it separately from the GHO file, save it to the hard disk, and then delete it after installation. With this software, you can also add new content to the GHO file, so if we have new software, we can continue to add it, thus eliminating the trouble of re-doing the GHO image. Is it convenient? The software processed in this way will not be infected by the virus any more in the future. Interested friends can try it.
